"Only 2 drinks officer!" It's the standard lie. So, in addition to driving drunk, he's "dishonest in his dealings with his fellow man". ;)

This lists him as a WR, but I’m pretty sure he’s a DB.

Everyone who plays for ybu is required to play DB!

BTW the correct answer is NEVER two drinks, it's "Sorry officer, but I will need to speak with my Attorney first before answering any questions, all my information is on my DL" because if you get pulled over for DUI (you are an idiot) you have a 99.999999% chance of going to jail regardless of what lie you want to tell. is there a public establishment -- a 'pub', if you will -- where alcohol is served on tap? and perhaps there may be an elevated dais or 'bar' (if you will) where patrons may sit and consume alcohol together? does such a locale exist?

I have heard that public houses exist, even in Utah. Indeed, even in Logan. If not, I will take a Mulligan's on the question, and swat again with a Cactus Club. :)

Depends on his body weight. One beer, 1 oz of hard liquor or 4 oz of wine will raise the BAC of a 160 lb male .02. So, at .147, if he weighed 165 lbs, he'd have 7+ drinks in his system. It's a ratio of alcohol to blood volume, which in turn is a function of body weight. If he is 200 lbs., you can re-crunch the numbers. Elimination via metabolism is roughly .02 per hour also (varies a little based on the person, range is .175 to .02 elimination per hour).

In Provo, to keep from being turned in for an honor code violation, you have to call a regular Uber, and not a BYUber.

So let me educate you fine LDS folks. (Full disclosure I am as well but had my fun back in the day)
Back in my college days the recipe for jungle juice went something like this. 5 gallon drink cooler. Ice. 30 pack of stones. (That's keystone light). Bottle of everlear. (typically 190 proof which is more than double the alcohol content of your typical whiskey or vodka). Big thing of koolaid powder. Mix and drink in Solo cups.
Now depending on how many people you were expecting at the party you could always double the recipe. So certainly two full Solo cups of "jungle juice" would probably do the trick to get to a .15 bac. You could almost always count on a fight breaking out on jungle juice nights. 😀

Ah everclear. I remember when we found out the liquor store in Logan sold it, that was a rough week. Cheap and efficient though, and you can blow fire with it :bananafire:

Had the BYU community been taking their mind-everyone-else's-business responsibility seriously, and reported this kid to the honor-code office at the first appearance of trouble (skipped a day shaving, said "fetch" too much, slowed down when walking past the caffeinated drinks), he'd not be in this situation. BYU students should feel ashamed. This is on them. They let this kid down.

Is there Uber or taxi service in Logan after midnight ?

Not really when you consider the fact that as a BYU-P attendee adherent to the honor code, he's never even sipped a drink of alcohol before in his life and most likely someone slipped some vodka into his Gatorade while he was working at the local homeless shelter.

Now throw in the allelic variation of the liver enzymes that metabolize ethanol. Everyone metabolizes at a slightly different rate. Bottom line: A-impossible to know exactly how much he drank. B-in general terms, he drank quite a bit.

And he could be completely accurate that it was just two drinks. Of course, they were served in Big Gulp cups...

We can't know exactly, but we can get very, very close. Additionally, the genetic enzymatic variation referenced in the previous post is rare in African Americans. If he weighed 200 lbs, then he had at least 9 drinks in him at the time he was stopped.

The first part of this comment is correct. Don't say anything. The second part, however, is exactly 100% the wrong thing to do. Do not ever refuse (or decline) the breathalyzer, at least in Utah. I guarantee you won't like the consequences.

This lists him as a WR, but I’m pretty sure he’s a DB.
So respectfully decline breathalyzer, sobriety tests, and just hold out your wrists and say "lets go officer."
The first part of this comment is correct. Don't say anything. The second part, however, is exactly 100% the wrong thing to do. Do not ever refuse (or decline) the breathalyzer, at least in Utah. I guarantee you won't like the consequences.

Disclaimer: Yes, I am a lawyer, but my comment isn't legal advice. (Even though it is correct).

The highway patrol officer who taught my defensive driving class last week would agree - but he is a cop. Can I trust him?... He actually was a very reasonable one.
It is an automatic 18 month suspension of your license even if you are ultimately not charged or are acquitted of DUI. For repeat offenders it is 3 years. By obtaining and using a Utah Driver License, you have automatically consented to a breathalyzer. You are much better off taking the test and trying to challenge the admissibility of the test results.

When I worked the ER, we had guys come in over .300 regularly. The all time record that I seen was a .457, and he was still standing, barely.
