Peasley....
Hope he is okay. Kid is a tremendous athlete. Ran a 4.51 40 this summer and has a nice throwing motion. If he is out for awhile, who moves into the 3 spot?

Re: Peasley....
That really sucked. It was really the only negative of the night and it looked like a big one. I feel for the kid. He was having a great night. I thought he was the highlight of the fall scrimmage and impressed tonight as well.

Re: Peasley....
This looked like a season ending injury the way his leg just dragged off the field. He reacted like he immediately knew it was bad. The replay looked like his ankles got clanked together but he clinched his knee area.
Too bad, the kid showed the wheels that everyone had talked about and then went out in a devastating way.

Before the injury I was hoping that he could play corner for us.

Re: Peasley....
I think it was injured after he was down. He rolled over on his back with his legs up and his foot got tangled in the belly of the trailing DL as he fell on Peasley's leg.Aglicious wrote: ↑September 8th, 2019, 2:22 amThis looked like a season ending injury the way his leg just dragged off the field. Re: Peasley....
It looked like a cheap shot by the DL to me, Peasley was already down and the D lineman could have pulled up or rolled to the side. But, he wasn't flagged for it so I guess it's okay to do that.brownjeans wrote: ↑September 9th, 2019, 5:56 pmI think it was injured after he was down. Re: Peasley....
It looked like they were having trouble straightening it on the field, like it was locking up. If so his meniscus is involved.

Meniscus would generally be a blessing vs a damaged ACL. Tough break for Peasley and he was showing some real speed.

Re: Peasley....
I too thought it was a borderline cheap shot. It absolutely seemed to me that Stony Brook was taking their shots- but none of them were so bad that I could absolutely say it was intentional.
On TV it looked like that #19 for Stony Brook stood over Mariner after a tackle and then walked over him and kicked Mariner in the back of the head. But, it isn't easy for me to say it was 100% intentional. Same with the Peasley injury. It seemed to be bang, bang- but we've been flagged for less in the past.

Re: Peasley....
The walk-over is so disrespectful. I want to see someone get up quickly when someone attempts the walk-over and dump the guy on his (I can't express myself without swearing) and then do the walk-over on the attempter.

Re: Peasley....
Meniscus damage, according to my orthopedic surgeon, is currently quite manageable. An ACL typically brings the surgeon and six (6) months of rehab. Also a meniscus can be strikingly painful and cause the knee to lock up. LCL and MCL are expected to heal by themselves these days. Have to agree with brownjeans the meniscus can be painful to both acquire and work through. I still have a moment or two when my right knee moves to "full alert".brownjeans wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 7:51 amMeniscus might be better in the short term, but it's worse in the long run.

Re: Peasley....
Had my meniscus repaired about 10 years ago by one of the best orthopedists in the country and I still have problems with it. It's simple, but not simple.

Re: Peasley....
Refs never flag the walk-over for unsportsmanlike conduct - but that's what it is. Players need to stop putting up with it to let the refs recognize it's something they need to do something about.aggies22 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 8:19 amIf we dumped that dude on his a$$, we'd be the ones got flagged.brownjeans wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 8:12 amThe walk-over is so disrespectful. Re: Peasley....
I tore my ACL 17 years ago and was lucky to have done it without any damage to my meniscus. While it took a year to heal, today that knee feels awesome. My brother-in-law tore his meniscus around the same time I tore my ACL and after a quick scope cleanup was back to normal after about three weeks. Today his knee is in constant pain. I know that's a small sample size, but I'm still pretty glad I didn't hurt my meniscus.NavyBlueAggie wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 12:02 pmMeniscus damage, according to my orthopedic surgeon, is currently quite manageable. Re: Peasley....
ACL is a nasty repair issue, way beyond a simple meniscus. My doctor said to keep myself in decent shape or "I'd be sleeping while he was working." I see the gym 3 times a week to keep things aligned and in reasonable condition. ACL is nasty event brownjeans... all the best to you.

You don't need to dump the guy as he steps over you. Just raise up your head, but watch your timing.brownjeans wrote: ↑September 10th, 2019, 2:23 pmRefs never flag the walk-over for unsportsmanlike conduct - but that's what it is. Mcl completely severed and retracted down my leg then acl tear with miniscus damage. Acl repaired by Brad (?) from Nobles office. Miniscus IMPLANT a year later after a lab grew some of my own back. Worked great until this May when I messed it up snowmobiling. Now stiff, weak and sore.

Re: Peasley....
Terrible news about the injury.
That said, with a guy like this with that kind of athletic ability and speed it would be interesting in the future to find ways to play him. Similar to how the Saints are able to use Taysom Hill.
