The Matt Wells fan club isn’t going to appreciate this. I suggest you delete it ASAP.

Losing to Kansas will certainly warm his seat just a bit.

That was just a stupid decision by that player I am not sure what he was doing. Go down and play overtime.

Lol, no it won't. He is 8 games into year one at a school who hasn't had a winning Big 12 season since Mike Leach coached there. He will get 3 probably 4 years. If they aren't winning then, sure he'll be gone, but this game is meaningless as far as his job security just as it is for almost any first year coach at a bad program.

Your Matt Wells hatred is as weird as MetjetsAggie love for Duryea. Maybe even more weird since that could be considered just being a homer and wanting a coach to do well. (Even though it was a huge mistake from the get go and one I still am angry at Barnes over.) Matt Wells is an Aggie alum who was part of the Aggies only three double digit wins in school history; one as coordinator and two as a head coach. He was also our coach during our longest winning streak in school history. Not to mention beat byu in Provo twice when we hadn't won there since the 70's. You obviously know all of this. You can believe whatever you want, but I judging from when you graduated USU we about the same age so we have seen a ton of bad football from the 80's to the 90's to the 00's. It is very weird to me that any Aggie fan would not have a great deal of respect for what Matt Wells did here. We all have opinions I guess.

Glad we can bring this up when our current coach didn’t have his team ready. Makes me feel better

I don't want to bash Gary. He is the Aggie coach in his first year back and will be our coach for the next several years win or lose. However I do find it interesting how some people on here made excuse after excuse for his extreme failure at Oregon State where he completely bombed, but are now watching every Texas Tech game and celebrating anytime Tech loses.
Weird.

[I agree, I wish nothing but success for Wells. He brought me a lot joy over his time here as the head coach. There was also a lot of heartache. He sustained the program well.]

You’d be hard pressed to find many posts of mine complaining about Wells. I like him. I respect him.

I was being sarcastic because some freak out at the slightest criticism of him.

Weird.
In all fairness, blocking a field goal and fumbling on the return is something that would be a big deal no matter who it was and worth talking about, anywhere in high school, college, or NFL. The team it happened to just happened to be Wells's team.

It's like how when Kalani Sitake tried the fake punt on 4th and 19 from the 5 and people were like "Why are we obsessed with BYU?" But the fact was a failed fake of that nature would be worth talking about no matter who it was.

While you can try to argue not to be obsessed with our former coaches or BYU, Sometimes they can happen to be the involved party in things that are interesting.

I’m much more worried about our own head coach that was crying to the media about our offense and yet nothing ever changes with it.

The same offense that averaged 48 points a game last year.

It’s just good to see that Wells remains a true Aggie at heart. That play was something I would’ve expected to see from USU
