Bad Fans

Post by 3rdGenAggie » November 2nd, 2019, 10:26 pm

Call me a bad fan all you want, but if the team is going to completely quit, why can't we?

I don’t care if we get killed.

But not trying is where I start to not care.

I stopped caring last week. I was hoping this fame would change that.

This is two weeks in a row of just straight quitting. I’ve never been more let down by an Aggie team. We have no soul.

I really dislike this team. Every position played like absolute crap tonight. Our defense was an atrocity.

Just shut up and give more money. That’s what real fans do.

Is there a “Craig Smith” box on the donation slip. That’s the only place I want the money going.

Same here.

This unfortunately feels likes a team from the Brent Guy era. :bangwall:

You have obviously forgotten how bad that was. We only won one game in 2006 (a one point victory). That same year, we had the first four games in the season without scoring a single touchdown on offense (we were shutout in three of them--and the other our only score came on defense). Brent Guy was an awful head coach, and this team is no where near Brent Guy era bad. Plus, I read an article the other day that said we are just a few plays away from being an excellent football team.

No, I haven’t forgotten how bad that era was. I sat in Romney stadium as a student for nearly everyone of those games between 2002-2007. We are obviously not that bad but the (I can't express myself without swearing) kicking in the AF and ybu games have sparked old awful memories of those times.

My post wasn't intended to defend the poor performances of this year's team. It was just pointing out that it doesn't even feel close to how awful that 2006 team was.

Tonight I left a game early for the first time. I didn't listen to the rest in the radio, and I didn't listen to any postgame radio. I just couldn't watch that crap anymore. I wasn't having fun. And if I'm not having fun, what's the point?

If you leave early that is your call I have no problem with that, the product on the field tonight was not very good. I left as soon as it was 42-14 my wife and kids were cold and it's just was not worth sitting through any more of that crap.

The schedule this season was absolutely awful for two very important things: (1) fan engagement; and (2) team confidence.

Please, NEVER AGAIN with the midseason body bag game against (insert #1 ranked SEC school) and two early season byes. You take away football at the time of the season where the fans and players are most wanting football after a long offseason, and also crush the team’s mojo in the middle of the year with a guaranteed L.

This has contributed to me feeling less invested and like a “bad fan.”

The good news is the way the team is playing we will probably have more day home games next year.

Did BYU gain 700 yards on screens and sweeps with an injured 3rd string QB that year. Did we have a right tackle as gracious and courteous to passerbys as the current one. Maybe they did. They probably did. Too lazy to look.

I don't feel bad about casually watching the last two games when the team didn't show up. I"m not going to get all uptight about something I have not control over. When the team wants to play, I will be there for them.

If the team wants fan support they have to start supporting the fans as well. Great turn out last night - good energy - the fans this year have sat through nasty weather and late games . The product on the field is worse than the cow crap from the dairy farm. No desire no try. Tough to shell out thousands for that kind of return

Last year the team played very well in front of some really (I can't express myself without swearing) home crowds, I'm glad they didn't give up.
