Lineman for NM passed away. Terrible to lose someone that young.

Re: AF vs NM rescheduled
You know, I want to like AF except when they play us but their football coach and AD make it difficult. Piss poor statement from their AD over the reschedule:
“We share New Mexico’s grief over the tragic loss of Nahje Flowers and offer our deepest condolences,” Air Force athletic director Nathan Pine said in a statement, according to the Journal. “Air Force will now make the necessary steps to go along with Commissioner Craig Thompson and the Mountain West’s unprecedented decision to cancel this weekend’s game and reschedule. While Air Force has been disadvantaged by the decision, it pales in comparison to the loss New Mexico experienced.”
Last two sentences are wildly inappropriate and unnecessary. Wow. Whining seems habitual for them. Even if you feel that way, you don’t say it publicly. Bad look.

Re: AF vs NM rescheduled
That is garbage. If that is how they are handling things publicly, what is being said inside their program.

Re: AF vs NM rescheduled
I would hope if it was one of our opponents, we would agree to the rescheduling without the conference needing to step in.

I’ve got to admit that I’m a little surprised by AFs reaction to this. Given the institution they are, you would think they would have more tact when it comes to this kind of stuff. Of course, it’s not that surprising when you consider they employ Troy Calhoun is their coach. He’s a real piece of stinky smelly work.

#1. Saying "necessary...to go along with" =VICTIM. Is there any way to read that and not take it to mean this is something they are being made to do against their will?
#2. Saying "unprecedented decision" = VICTIM. This has never and will never happen to anyone but them, poor AF.
#3. Saying "Air Force has been disadvantaged by the decision" = VICTIM. Well to hell with reading between the lines! If you missed it the first two times we're just going to come right out and say it now, we are the VICTIM here. And how does he compare a loss of life to a supposed "disadvantage" of rescheduling a game? He implies that AFA has also suffered a loss here even though it isn't as great as UNM's...pfft.
#4. This game is against UNM. Yes, the same Lobo squad that is the worst in the conference and coached by a buffoon. Is it really worth acting like a puss about when you play them?

Re: AF vs NM rescheduled
Exactly. The whole thing was just passive-agressive bull crap. Really shocked me tbh.

I visited the afa board and they're not denying their AD said it. A shocking amount were defending it.

I don't know if AFA is a school I can cheer for anymore. Pretty low level stuff.

Wow this is despicable. I already hated their football coach, and it sounds like their AD is just as bad.

Re: AF vs NM rescheduled
They have grown into the team I hate the most in the league. Calhoun is pure douche and the AD sounds like a big whiny baby. I am sure at the academy they teach the cadets about how to react to change and that things are not always going to your way, but you have to be prepared for adversity. In this case they are just complaining thinking it is some huge burden. Have some compassion for the team that just lost one of their players. This is a rare occurrence for any team to go through.

Re: AF vs NM rescheduled
Too bad a news organization like ESPN can't get a hold of this and shame AFA for douchebaggery.
