That play to stop the Ally Oop at the end was out of this world.

Glad we had someone recruiting the church ball circuit for Bean.

They just had to get him to play less aggressively for D1 ball.

Wait, was Bean actually found/recruited through church ball?

No. But a story has circulated around about Spencer Nelson convincing him to walk-on while they dined at a Subway while Bean was on his mission in Reno.

Well that just sounds awesome, true or not.

I'm young. Spencer Nelson was the first Aggie I can really remember being excited to watch play. I remember Downtown Tony Brown and Desmond Pinegar, but Spencer Nelson was the first guy I can remember hype around.

Spencer Nelson was my favorite as a kid! I was sad that coach Smith didn’t keep him on. I still have a basketball signed by spencer Nelson and few by Jaycee Carol.

Last year I would instantly gasp and cringe when Bean would put the ball on the floor. He's improved so much in that area, although I still get edgy with the behind the back move.

His behind the back one doesn’t really get me but when he winds up to shoot a three I get really squirmy.

Bean should not be shooting 3's. His 15 footer is fine but 3's no. That being said being is so much improved over last year.

Bean definitely deserved the MVP award. Other than 2-3 ugly turnovers and an unnecessary 3P attempt in the first half of the LSU game, Bean played fantastic ball. I absolutely agree he should not be shooting 3s (until he can make 10 in a row regularly in practice), but I wouldn't go as far as to say he is "so much improved over last year," however, as I thought he was also terrific last season -- and the numbers bear it out.

And Alphonso also deserved to be named to the All Tourney team. Without him, we go 0-2 in that tourney.

I loved watching Bean last year because he reminded me of a young Jardine, but I didn't think he would develop so well/so quickly. He's been phenomenal this year. I'm very excited that's he's only a sophomore and he's already doing some serious work. Brady Jardine is my favorite Aggie of all time, so it might just be bias and wishful thinking, but am I alone in thinking that Bean will be one of our key players his junior and senior year, like Spencer Nelson/Nate Harris was?

He needs to develop his jump shot. Doesn't seem afraid to take a jump shot, but not good at it yet. If he does that, he will be a great player.

I predicted late last year that Bean would someday be 1st Team All MWC. I'm not entirely certain that will happen because Dennis Rodman-types sometimes don't get the recognition they deserve given that they might not be prolific scorers, but do all the hustle/non-box score/GATA things well. I suspect the advanced analytics will prove him to be one of the most valuable players in the conference if he continues on his current path.
