MW Bowl eligibility
I know no one wants to talk about this right now, but I think our chances of bowling are quite good even if we were to lose to UNM (which we won’t). Both Fresno and SJSU picked up their 7th loss yesterday, so the MW will only get 7 eligible teams.
We probably belong in, and I am hoping for, the Arizona Bowl against a Sun Belt team. Gives us the best chance to win.

Re: MW Bowl eligibility
If we lose to UNM there is a chance we won't go bowling. With 7 bowl eligible teams in thre conference and only 6 guaranteed spots we would left out as the only team with 6 wins. The hope is Boise could go to a New Year 6 bowl or the league is able to secure another bowl game.

I understand you are just issuing a "what if" scenario but there is no way in hell we will lose to New Mexico next week.hvaggie wrote: ↑November 24th, 2019, 10:07 amIf we lose to UNM there is a chance we won't go bowling. Re: MW Bowl eligibility
The Defense effort this week could easily mean a loss to even New Mexico. New Mexico sure played the donks tougher than the Aggies.aggies22 wrote: ↑November 24th, 2019, 10:15 amI understand you are just issuing a "what if" scenario but there is no way in hell we will lose to New Mexico next week.hvaggie wrote: ↑November 24th, 2019, 10:07 amIf we lose to UNM there is a chance we won't go bowling. Re: MW Bowl eligibility
There are 80 bowl slots available. 40 bowl games I think.
As of right now there are 86 teams that are alive for bowl games.
13 Teams have a 5 - 6 record. 4 Red are very unlikely to win. 3 other teams need to lose.
Boston College @ Pitt 7 - 4 BC won
TCU vs WVU 4 - 7 TCU lost
North Carolina @ North Carolina State 4 - 7 North Carolina Won
Michigan State vs Maryland 3 - 8 Michigan St won
Nebraska vs Iowa 8 - 3 Nebraska lost
Army vs Hawaii 8 - 4 and Navy 9 - 2
Ohio @ Akron 0 - 11 Ohio beat Akron.
Kent St. @ Eastern Michigan 6 -5 Kent St. won
Oregon St. @ Oregon 9 - 2 Oregon St lost
Colorado @ Utah 10 -1 Colorado lost
Missouri @ Arkansas 2 - 9 Missouri is not Bowl eligible
Mississippi State vs Ole Miss 4 - 7 MSU won
Troy vs Appalachian St 10 - 1 Troy lost
UL Monroe @ Louisiana 9 - 2 UL Monroe lost
Updated this to note that Missouri is not bowl eligible.

Re: MW Bowl eligibility
Probably very unlikely we are left out based on this. Doesn’t seem like as many eligible teams will be staying home as last year.Blitz79 wrote: ↑November 24th, 2019, 8:59 pmThere are 80 bowl slots available. 40 bowl games I think.

Re: MW Bowl eligibility
Nebraska lost, so with Missouri being ineligible, we just need one more to lose (assuming the heavy favorites all win) to be mathematically guaranteed a bowl slot, correct? If it weren’t for the Ole Piss, we coulda had this locked up already.trevordude wrote: ↑November 24th, 2019, 9:47 pmI appreciate this post, thank youBlitz79 wrote: ↑November 24th, 2019, 8:59 pmThere are 80 bowl slots available. 40 bowl games I think.

EDIT: TCU lost to WVU, so I think we’re in as long as heavy favorites take care of business.
