Huge Three by Porter
He's taken some flack this year on the board, but man.... that was huge. And it's not the first time he's done that. Ice in his veins!

Porter is a clutch player. Always made big scores at key points in the game.

I would rather see Porter shooting 3s than Miller honestly

Great shot, love his relentlessness. Did he get pulled down on that one foul at the end too? It looked like the dude grabbed his arm and pulled him down

Miller is a hot-cold player. We love it when he is on with his 3s, but we hate it when he is off.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 6:42 pmI would rather see Porter shooting 3s than Miller honestly

Miller needs to take more jumpers and floaters. He is quite good at those, but doesn't seem to shoot them much.TrueBigBlue wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 6:49 pmHe sure seems to be off way more than he is on, thoughSLB wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 6:47 pmMiller is a hot-cold player. Huge Three by Porter
Great spot by Porter.
Miller does not need to shoot more jumpers and really shouldn’t be shooting much at all these days. The problem is that he brings nothing else to the table.
Brito was off on his jumper tonight. No problem, he went and grabbed 9 rebounds and fouled out Fresno’s best player because HE DRIVES TO THE BASKET.
Porter has an off game and he turns in 5-7 assistants and/or is capable of hitting huge shots like UNM last year or Fresno tonight.
Miller is off again and we might as well play with four guys in the floor. This is his third year in the program, what can he do besides jack up threes?

Re: Huge Three by Porter
I thought he played good defense at times. Smith seems to like him because he plays him an awful lot even when he struggles. Although Anderson has been a bit off, I would have liked to see Anderson take some of Millers minutes. Anderson is physical and takes better shots than Miller.dyedblue wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 7:07 pmGreat spot by Porter.

You should have seen my clutch city league shot this week. All six people in the stands clapped their hands with great emotion.AndroidAggie wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 6:42 pmwas sick. i loved seeing him stare down the rim and set his feet and shoot the ball with no hurry or panic. wish i had that kind of sang froid.

Re: Huge Three by Porter
I agree. Probably his best game so far without looking at the stats and just looking at how he played.

Awesome 3 by Porter. He has come up huge late in some games through his 2 years here.

Miller needs to be the microwave off the bench guy. If he's got, ride him. If not, limit his minutes.

Re: Huge Three by Porter
This is how i would like to see him used as well. Switch him and Brito to start and definitely limit the minutes he's out there. He is a liability on D, hardly ever fights for rebounds because he is vertically challenged, and is not that great of a shooter to be allowed to jack up as many 3s as he does.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 10:30 pmMiller needs to be the microwave off the bench guy. Three times tonight I watched him switch on defense, once with Porter and twice with Merrill, where the guy he switched onto had the ball and they immediately blew right past him after being guarded pretty far into the shot clock by the other two with no penetration. Other than his rare streaky shooting nights im not sure why Smith insists on giving him so much PT.

Watch the first three minutes of the second half. They cost us dearly

Re: Huge Three by Porter
Miller doesn't do contact. Moves away from it when shooting (even when he'd draw a foul), moves away from it when rebounding, won't cause it when we want to foul an opposing ball-handler before he takes a desperation three to tie the game.
I remember watching Marquette run drills before we played them. Their coaches used pads and hit their players on layup and shooting practice to get them used to contact. Miller needs to do that or something like that to get past whatever has him so afraid of contact.

Re: Huge Three by Porter
This is evidenced by his lack of fouls in every game. He rarely commits any fouls because of his unwillingness to take contact or mix things up.brownjeans wrote: ↑December 8th, 2019, 9:21 amMiller doesn't do contact.
