Dave Aranda offered by UNLV
Some sources reporting Aranda was offered by UNLV to leave his 2.5 million/year LSU
job for the HC position at UNLV. Oh boy! He is the one I wanted instead of Wells after Gary left. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sandie ... f_amp=true

Yeah, may be the shortest thread in history! Hope mods combine with thread on Oregon’s OC going to UNLV. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.review ... 11445/amp/

Honestly, I would have been shocked if he had taken that job.

Re: Dave Aranda offered by UNLV
Why would someone take at least a 50% pay cut just to say they are a head coach?!?!?!?
IIRC, Aranda is making $2.5M at LSU and the recently fired UNLV coach was making about $700 a year. Even if they offered double to Aranda what the previous coach was making, that is still quite the haircut.

Hey Mr. Aranda, come work for us for 3 years and then get fired or work next year for LSU for the same amount and keep your job...tough sales pitch.

"LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda had initial conversations about the Rebels' vacancy but was never offered the job."
Is that true? Why would they not have offered him the job?!

His agent puts his name out there. He gets a raise. Agent gets his cut. Everyone is happy.

DA will never be a HC anywhere so long as he can continue making bank being an Assistant Coach. All the dough w/o the headache.

It would be interesting to see what Aranda would look like with "the haircut".jpswensen wrote: ↑December 11th, 2019, 11:56 amWhy would someone take at least a 50% pay cut just to say they are a head coach?!?!?!?
