1:54 left, no timeouts, Sanford calls a run
Then 2 plays later with our season hanging in the balance and our offense facing 4th and 18 we throw to a TE running slowly 6 yards down the field across the middle. That was the best we could come up with.
I'm sorry, I just don't think this guy is the answer. It's one thing to deal with injuries and to try and adopt a new system to cater to returning players from a record setting offense, and it's another to make boneheaded play calls all year long and scuttle your own ship.
I would not be sad to see Sanford go.

I thought Sanford called a good game. Not his fault warren dropped that pass, nathan making a mistake on the punt, bright fumbling it, bad snap on the punt and whatever the call was on the kickoff. Offense put up 41 points which should get a victory most nights.

I’ve been critical of Sanford, but this on isn’t in him at all.

Agree. We ran 2 plays under center. Also the jet sweep to DT was a great call.

I am still not happy with situational play calling from Sanford but when you gain 29 first downs, put up 505 total yards, and 41 points you should win....especially against a team the caliber of Kent St.

Nope you need Clemson money, talent, and coaching to achieve such a result. To think otherwise is laughable.

Run plays and underneath pass we’re stupid, but defense sucked. All of us watching knew their qb was most likely to go for the TD, yet we did not even focus on him.

They didn't win it either, but I don't think that is what he was saying.brownjeans wrote:Offense didn't lose this game

Re: 1:54 left, no timeouts, Sanford calls a run
Nope, but criticizing the offense in a game where the margin for error was zero because the defense played so poorly isn't very fair. I mean, do we expect perfection? That's how good the offense would have needed to be to overcome how bad the defense was.Empire of Dirt wrote: ↑December 21st, 2019, 8:11 amThey didn't win it either, but I don't think that is what he was saying.brownjeans wrote:Offense didn't lose this game
