Re: I missed Queta’s injury
He knocked his bad knee into the Florida players leg/knee, didn't look terrible but if he can reinjure the knee that easily I'm not sure if he should be playing right now

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Encouraging, yes- because if it was as serious as I thought initially he wouldnt be allowed to..ineptimusprime wrote: ↑December 21st, 2019, 3:18 pm
Looks to be jumping around in the video, which may be encouraging?
But notice how many legs he is on, 1. I still think it's a while we see Queta play again.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Looked like more of a bike bruise type of thing. Knee to the side of his leg. Didn’t see the knee give way or flex or anything. Knee actually looked solid. I think he will be back though I’m sure the staff will play it safe.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Queta really struggled though in the time he played. Ball was getting stripped from him and he could not set up a post presence. Hopefully he is able to recover by conference or at least mid conference and be back for the most important time of the year...March! I think a healthy Queta will manhandle some MWC teams which is why we need him bad. Not many teams will have a Blackshear type player.

I missed Queta’s injury
Queta had 4 turnovers in limited time. Can someone explain to me how that was a charge?

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Being he is already knock kneed I think he just more susceptible to these type of injuries. His knee definitely got bent inward and it didn't look good nor did his reaction. I would not be surprised if that is the last we see of Queta this year.

So good to see this kind of celebration from the team. They deserve to thoroughly enjoy this victory. It was huge, no matter how good or bad you think Florida may be.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Can anyone explain many of the calls in this game? The refs were horrid. I hate to point them out in games but it seemed like unless there was blood they weren't going to call a foul on a Gator. Meanwhile Blackshear was allowed to do just about anything he liked including going over the back and barrelling into people when he had no where to go.

Aglicious, we're not going to get the calls against a P5 school, especially of this caliber. The kids should expect it.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
They were forced to go into foul mode down six with a little under 1 min to go which evened it out but it was really more about what was called one way at one end but not the other. There were times when Blackshear traveled when he was double teamed but instead was rewarded with a foul call by just running into the nearest player who had position. Meanwhile Bean gets called for a travel immediately at the other end of the court. Poor Bean got mugged many times in this game but couldn't buy a call.
It was nice to see him and all the Aggies play through some pretty slanted calls.

6 free throws to 20 before they started fouling on purpose.Aglicious wrote:They were forced to go into foul mode down six with a little under 1 min to go which evened it out but it was really more about what was called one way at one end but not the other. Re: I missed Queta’s injury
I don't know if it would have mattered but I often wonder why more basketball players don't wear knee pads like some of the old guys did. (Hakeem Olajuwon, for example)

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
With a lot of strange calls in that game that charge was easily the worst. The defender was outside the ring but he was clearly still moving.
This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

And Queta didn’t make contact other than knocking knees.pilotaggie wrote:With a lot of strange calls in that game that charge was easily the worst. The defender was outside the ring but he was clearly still moving.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Stick him in there against Eastern Oregon, and let him get more of his confidence back. I am wondering if he is taking time to adjust to his extra weight he put on since last year.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
The strangest call I think was when Bean was called for a foul when a shoulder hit his face when he was standing there

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
Would be interesting to see if there’s a game this year where refs aren’t discussed

Did we discuss refs after the St. Katherine game?

These posts complaining about refs and predicting stellar conference schedules (in other threads) are very Cougary.

Am I the only one who thinks these posts comparing USU fans to BYU fans are the most offensive things you can possibly call a USU fan. Seriously, if a USU fan were to call me that to my face I'd make him take it back by threat of extreme violence. USU fans shouldn't treat other USU fans this way.WannabeAgAlum wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2019, 9:58 amThese posts complaining about refs and predicting stellar conference schedules (in other threads) are very Cougary.

Re: I missed Queta’s injury
I missed the game because I was reffing a HS game (yep I'm one of those horrible referees) but I was able to watch it later and I thought the officiating wasn't bad. One thing you want is consistency and I thought they were consistent the entire game and on both ends.

If the shoe fits though... bad behavior is bad behavior and needs to be called by its name. Re: I missed Queta’s injury
I agree. I watched the game after the fact after hearing just how truly awful the reffing was, and I was surprised that it wasn't. There were a few calls that were not made that could have been, but nothing egregious. Some calls that could have gone either way that went on us, some that went on them. In the first half it seemed like calls were primarily in our favor, though that could be because they have such a young, unpolished team.cornia27 wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2019, 10:08 amI missed the game because I was reffing a HS game (yep I'm one of those horrible referees) but I was able to watch it later and I thought the officiating wasn't bad. Nope. Some lines shouldn't be crossed. You don't tell a man his dead wife was a whore and you don't compare a fellow USU fan to BYU.Madmartigan wrote: ↑December 23rd, 2019, 10:27 amIf the shoe fits though... bad behavior is bad behavior and needs to be called by its name.
