Re: Todd Orlando
It’s been almost a month since they fired him.
And his wife hates Logan.
And we can’t afford him.
Aside from all that I’m game though.

Re: Todd Orlando
Why having lived in Round Rock,TX if you can't win in Austin your the problem! He didn't like it here and hasn't been been great at his other stops. It was all based on the talent that was left for him to work with. He should have had all the talent in the world in Austin and failed. Look at Aranda at LSU been successful where ever he's been. I'd pass on Orlando

Re: Todd Orlando
Even if we got him back he wouldn't be the same as he was the first time, and we would have the same "Not the same as his old self" conversation about him as we have about Gary. And he wouldn't have the same players in another go-around.

Re: Todd Orlando
Its the quadfecta of Aggies!!!
Wells, Yost, Patterson, and Orlando. Always wanted to see those 4 together. I actually think they wont be that bad as those are some of the best coaches to come through Utah State in recent memory. Texas Tech is a tough place to coach though competing against all the other Texas schools and Big 12 schools.

Patterson is still there. Orlando is being added at the Assistant Head Coach and Linebackers Coach.

Re: Todd Orlando
Is the armpit of Texas worse than the icebox of Utah ?
Re: Todd Orlando
You mean the icebox where they store their manure supply for the year?

Re: Todd Orlando
I’ve spent a lot of time in both places. I’d take Logan every day and twice on Sunday.

Re: Todd Orlando
Lubbock Texas is host and home to a super colony of rattle snakes. We used to have equipment seminars in Lubbock, and a few weeks before those seminars and equipment field testing began, the manufacturer would host local rattle snake campaigns to reduce the risk to all who attended those schools. The snake problem remained a bit dicey even after those drives were completed even though the locals were paid for each snake head they turned in. I'll take 3 months of winter in Cache Valley over the snakes and dust of Lubbock and west Texas.

Re: Todd Orlando
I love having 4 seasons. In fact winter is my second favorite behind Fall. Skiing, snowmaking, ice fishing or even snow shoeing will make you love winter. Winter also kills of bugs. Imo- this place is as close to heaven as you can get. Zion baby!!

Since this thread is no longer about Todd Orlando, I'll throw in that I hate snow. That is all.

Re: Todd Orlando
I thought Coach Orlando was very focused, inciteful and much very into his craft. I have spoken with Todd a number of times and he was always intensely into the defensive portion of football. I believe one has to go one and one with Todd to appreciate his intensity. He remains a solid coach who was good enough to get hired by Houston and Texas and I would say that one bad year does not a bad coach make.

Re: Todd Orlando
There was a program in India aimed at reducing the cobra population. They paid people for dead cobras. People started breeding them to collect. When the government found out they cancelled the program. With no market, all the cobra farms set their cobras free. The cobra problem was worse than ever.NavyBlueAggie wrote: ↑January 9th, 2020, 6:31 amLubbock Texas is host and home to a super colony of rattle snakes. Having lived in warm weather climate and now the icebox of utah, I'll take the armpit of texas and I've never been there. Winters suck monkey balls. Go get your rattles snakes at hyde park canyon(I saw Matt Wells there once, he told me he is good friends with hipster and AK).
Logan is a nice quiet town and I love that but people here need to get out more.

Re: Todd Orlando
I love winter.
I've been a lot other places enough to know I don't want to live east of the Rocky mountains. I hate hot, humid weather and need the mountains, and open spaces of the West. I like Arizona, but hate the Phoenix metro area (you ruin what's right about the desert when you put 5 million people in a desert city). California is okay if you avoid LA to San Bernardino and Orange County. I'm pretty good with the rest of the West.
The Midwest, South, and East are all fun to visit, but I don't want to live there.

I definitely miss having four seasons. We get 1 1/2 seasons here. Hot and humid for 11 months and then pretty hot and a little humid for one month.

Re: Todd Orlando
The first night I spent outside of Logan after graduating was the start of a new job near Lubbock. I took a drink of tap water the first night and was glad it didn’t hit me like the water I drank in Mexico that had the same taste and texture. I spent the summer west in f Lubbock and once saw a rattlesnake swallowing a jackrabbit on the edge of the road. I happily moved back to Utah almost five months after arriving where I enjoyed watching Orlando’s defenses when he was at USU. I hope coach Orlando has a great time in Lubbock.

Saw that Orlando was named the Defensive Coordinator at Southern Cal. It is interesting that you get
fired and you end up with a better job. With the talent that SC has I think he will be successful

That just CAN'T BE! He was FIRED from his last job, surely he is not a good coordinator anymore!AGGIEFIGHT wrote: ↑January 24th, 2020, 2:40 pmSaw that Orlando was named the Defensive Coordinator at Southern Cal. It is interesting that you get

Re: Todd Orlando
I’m sure he’s giving some USC fans “pause” that he was just fired. I don’t think that’s abnormal or odd. When a guy gets fired, it means it’s a red flag. Maybe a really small red flag, but a red flag nonetheless. It doesn’t mean he won’t be great at USC. Or he might fail. Who knows.aggies22 wrote:That just CAN'T BE! And it doesn’t mean Bodie Reeder won’t be great either but I do think it’s at least worthy of discussing any previous firings.

Re: Todd Orlando
Most comments on the USC forum seem like their fans are on board with the hire and they are saying pretty positive things. I only saw one mention of him recently being fired.
I think most people typically try to find out the context of why coaches are let go before getting out their jump to conclusions mat.
