On the bright side

Post by hipsterdoofus21 » January 18th, 2020, 11:54 pm

Could this be enough to motivate Smith to recruit over Miller? I know he's a loyal guy and that's primarily why he elected to stick with this core returning group instead of trying to upgrade at PG or SF, but blowing a massive lead like this has to be enough to warrant a significant change in philosophy or direction right?

No more returned missionaries on the team please. We’ve already tried that, didn’t work.

I’m sure they’re nice guys but......

There is absolutely no bright side to this. Smith has to prove he can recruit first, which the jury is still out on.

And Sam Merrill should have just gone to BYU. Right?

I feel like our recruits coming in next year should be solid. Also if memory serves correct we were supposed to have a really good stretch 4 recruit that my couldn’t make grades.

If Quetta comes back there is a chance coach Smith could put a decent team on the court next year. Queta is a difference maker when heathy and a 1/2 Queta is huge upgrade from anybody else on this team down low. If however, he decides not to come back, I think we will be very mediocre.

In today’s basketball, you’ve got to have perimeter shooting.

You can win with Porter as your PG if Miller and Brito can shoot. They can’t.

You can win with Miller as your SF/SG if Porter and Brito can shoot. They can’t.

You can win with Brito if Porter and miller can shoot. They can’t.

We have three bad shooters, combined with Bean and Queta, and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Brito and Porter are gone, so hopefully next season, McChesney, Bairstow, Anthony and Bischoff are our shooters and Miller can play a 6th/7th man role. That’s our only hope for a good season. Losing Merrill is gonna sting.

I just wonder about the state of someone's mind/personal life when all they do is get onto a website to post negative things. Either it's a troll (which is one thing...) or someone who could really use some help getting to a better place.

Either way, the boards really aren't where you belong.

Yep this is one of the biggest differences this year last year Miller Brito and Porter were all shooting a lot better. That and last year we never gave up an 18-point lead with 4 minutes to go.

FIFY. Brito and Porter shot better last year. Brock was bad last year, too. He probably has one decent (not even good) shooting game in every 10.
