Re: Vote for Sam!
Done. But, it shows who is leading and James Foye from Dartmouth has almost 45% of the votes!! The dude averages 9 points and 3 rebounds and has averaged double figure points 1 year out of his 4 years at Dartmouth!

Re: Vote for Sam!
20.8%. Apparently if you vote too many times, reCaptcha begins giving picture verification prompts each time you vote.

22.4%. FYI, the reCaptcha verification doesn't go away. It just keeps doing it each time.

It also gets harder after 10-20 votes... Pain in the (I am unable to express myself without the use of swear words). I hate these competitions.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 4:12 pm22.4%. FYI, the reCaptcha verification doesn't go away. It just keeps doing it each time.

28.6%. We're getting there!
Also, there's not much more demoralizing than having to do four reCaptcha verifications in a row.

Re: Vote for Sam!
The more comprehensive captcha goes away after a while. I did 20ish more votes after doing it initially like an hour ago.
Every time anyone checks this section of the forum, go jump in and do 20 more votes and we'll be golden!

He had dipped down to 32.8%, so I voted until it adjusted up, showing 33.6%. He is now 6.3% ahead of second place.

Sam has gone down a couple of tenths of a percent in the last hour or so.
Therefore, here is a bump and a reminder to keep up the voting!

Re: Vote for Sam!
Its lets you vote for 3 people, so may I recommend voting for Sam and the players currently in last and 2nd to last. The person in 3rd to last would be nice to see in last. Just due to team affiliation, nothing personal to the guy.

Re: Vote for Sam!
I understand and I can appreciate your enthusiasm to do that. However, that decreases the efficiency of your votes for Sam. At this point, a single vote for Sam gives 100% of that total increase in votes, and thus his percentage of the total votes increases. It's that 100% of a vote that slowly increases his overall share.thegreendalegelf wrote: ↑February 6th, 2020, 1:15 pmIts lets you vote for 3 people, so may I recommend voting for Sam and the players currently in last and 2nd to last. However, if you vote for two other people, that effective vote percentage decreases to 33.3%. This means that (irrespective of all other voting), you are giving Sam an increase of 33.3% of the total votes. At this point, given that he has 34% of the votes, you're actually decreasing his % of total votes.
Granted, if we look at it purely from a total numbers garnered, it still gives him an additional vote ahead of the closest competition. But don't we want his percentage as high as possible? Given that the votes are only 1/3 of the criteria for the award, don't we want his 1/3 to be as heavily favored as possible?
But also, screw Childs. So...

Re: Vote for Sam!
It looks like Sam lost about 3% overnight. I've seen him as high as 34.5%, and he is down to 31.5% now. He is still ahead of second place, who is at 24.4%, but let's keep working to keep Sam where he deserves to be - way out in front!

Re: Vote for Sam!
I just gave him another dozen votes or so. He is now at 32.1%. On the bright side, despite his overall percentage going down, he has the largest lead over second place that I've yet seen: 8.2%!

I'm guessing the percentages aren't updated live? Been voting for quite a bit and it hasn't even changed a tenth of a percent.

Yeah... I'm not sure if they update after a certain time period (e.g. every 5 minutes) or after certain quantity of votes comes in, but it certainly doesn't show after each vote.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑February 7th, 2020, 10:54 amI'm guessing the percentages aren't updated live? Re: Vote for Sam!
Sam dipped down to 31.9%, but his gap above the #2 spot is much higher... Now up to 9.5%. He's almost got a double digit lead, as he should.
Just got it back up to 32.1%, with the spread now at 9.8%.

Re: Vote for Sam!
I think we're just to the point that there have been a huge number of votes cast, so it will take a lot to sway it. Too much for one individual voter to sway, even with many votes cast. I could be wrong though.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑February 7th, 2020, 11:28 amYeah... Anyway, Sam is down to only 29.1% of the vote. Keep voting for him!

For another task, I wrote a script that will download the audio file on the captcha, convert it to text, and enter it.

Gotta bump this. We slacked off over the weekend, apparently. Sam is now at 24.7%, with second place at 23.5%.

Re: Vote for Sam!
Someone should set up an event on campus where a dozen or two students fill a lab and just vote for Sam for half an hour or so. With that many people voting in concert, you should be able to see the %s increase more significantly.
