Not bad. I've got something VERY similar. I think Justin McGriff will start over Sean Carter at WR and if I remember correctly Jordan Nathan has been bumped outside as well.

I think that Heneli Avendano has overtaken Ty Shaw at left guard.

I also think Luke Marion will develop into a very good SPUR for us.

I think Jake Pitcher at DE will be higher up the depth chart as well.

I 100% agree that Steele and Lampkin should be the starting CB's.

I think Logan Lee is still on the team. Coach Andersen mentioned seven scholarship tight ends that group should include Carson Terrell, Logan Lee, Travis Bowman, Mo Manu, Bryce Mortensen, Josh Sterzer and Broc Lane. Jack Drews is a walk-on.

As long as I am able to see enough tomorrow, I will be publishing my customary Day 1 depth chart.

Thanks 22.

I could see Duncan taking over for Munoz very quickly. I really liked from what I saw from Reed in the practices last year. It would be awesome if he could fill that role next to Bond.

I'll be looking to see just how much Duncan is able to do. He had his ACL surgery in September and that's not a lot of recovery time. I'm really interested in the progress of Jaymason Willingham and Simon Thompson as well. The progression of the young ILB's is what is going to determine whether or not the coaching staff will resume looking for a grad transfer at this position.

Reed will be interesting to watch as well. I liked what I've seen from Dom Tatum so far.

I love the changes to get the spur position back on the field and mix up the blitzes. And Heininger, on the other side.....that guy is gonna flourish in this new defensive scheme.

A few thoughts I have,

-I'll be shocked to even see Sean Carter in the two deep when it's all done. I repeatedly saw bad drops in fall camp last year.

- I'm worried about the Safety position now. I have to wonder if these are just experiments for now and we'll see shifts back to "normal". Jared Reed went to Portland State and hardly played there. He then came and walked on to USU. Now he'll be our starting Safety? :headscratch: I think there's some lack of depth there too.

- If we run a 3-4-4 hybrid (with Lefeged at SPUR) then I think the use of a Nickel defense may go down. I wonder then if we'll see Grayson being utilized and playing a lot at Corner and maybe even starting there?

- Given what I see from the D-Line and OL/TE, I'm still going to clamor for a shift of Uasike and Logan Lee back to their previous positions on the D-line. I would still love to hear some commentary from Gary about this. Those guys were pretty good in 2018 at their respective defensive positions.

- I also am of the opinion we'll eventually see Munoz supplanted at the ILB spot. There's more athletic guys behind him I hope we'll see develop.

good points.

I would that I have concern over the center position. Aliifua is incumbent starter there. The center/quarterback exchange was a problem last season. And now we'll be breaking in a new quarterback. I hope this improves. Aliifua also had several ineligible receiver downfield calls against him last year. I know it's tough to stay on the line with an RPO offense, but he seemed to be the biggest culprit for that call of all the linemen.

Is the left tackle position going to improve from last year?

I believe Al Edwards spent most of last season battling an injury/injuries. He should have a much better junior season.

100% agreed on Sean Carter. As you can see I have Derek Wright ahead of him already.

I will be watching the Jared Reed/Dom Tatum battle with interest.

I also agree about the usage of the Nickel. If the SPUR becomes the primary position on the field, I am interested to see how Grayson gets used. I still think Steele and Lampkin could get the nod over Grayson.

A healthy Maika Magalei is much better that Eric Munoz and although we may not see it early in spring ball or in spring ball at all, I think that Magalei is a better starting option at ILB than Munoz and my depth chart prediction reflects that.

What is really tough about this whole positional depth chart prediction thing is that until we get a chance to see for ourselves, it's really hard to say who has made the move from DE to OLB/ILB and who is making the move from OLB/S to SPUR.

Jordan won't be doing any practicing for Spring, but at the moment, he will rotate in the slot and play outside.....not sure what position he will be listed on the depth chart as #1 but for sure will play both

That's Jimmer's hometown. So if he becomes the starter, we could call beating BYU on a field goal "Jimmering them football style" back at them!
