It was the buzz last year too. But the taller guys didn't really play and our guards played smaller than their size, they were/are not very athletic.

I hope we have the team with team with the bigger cojones in college basketball.

Could you imagine if we also secured a commit from that 6'11 Polish power forward we're going after? I mean wow! It's incredible considering all those years under Stew and Duryea who both refused to recruit anyone over 6'8.''

I agree, our general lack of backcourt athleticism was a disadvantage at times. However, having size and length at every position did bother A LOT of opponents last year. For example, down the stretch against LSU, Florida, and SDSU; our bigs and guards were able to lock in and grab decisive rebounds, giving us valuable extra possessions when it mattered.

Even if we don't land another athletic wing player this off season, a backcourt of Marco Anthony and Sean Bairstow gives us a PG/SG combo (not sure who plays what position) with athleticism for days!

Is there a team that historically compares to us in height?

To me this is such an annoying regurgitated misnomer.

I’ll bet if you weighted height by actual minutes played we wouldn’t have even been in the top 50 of college basketball last year.

I agree. We only have one 7-footer on the floor at a time. We are just a Center-heavy team, which is really pushing the average height up. I'm hoping we see a lot of Ashworth/Worster, and they aren't tall for their positions.

Still waiting on that ball handler...reminds me of "One on One" with Robbie Benson. Actually filmed at CSU.

His roommate was a 6'6" guard who said he was the shortest guy on his high school team. He was the only guy who could dribble the ball.

Maybe Smith and Co. are currently combing the land for a 7 footer with handles? :noidea:

In the preseason game, we should for fun have for a line-up of Kuba, Dorius, Queta, Zapala, and Wickizer/McChesney for a play.

If we have five 7 footers on the court, at the same time, that can pass the ball we shouldn't need one with handles. No need to dribble.

We don't necessarily need a ball handler if everyone is taller than everyone on the other team we can just pass it around like water polo and not even need to dribble.

I have seen done when New Mexico State had that super tall duo was facing San Diego State in the NCAA tournament.

Not that it matters in the slightest, but we have to be the pasty whitest team in college basketball since some of the late 90s BYU teams.

BYU is, by default, the pasty whitest team in college basketball every year however with TJ Haws leaving this year we may actually be in the running for next year.

When referring to BYU please use the more appropriate "white and delightsome".
