It looks like Fresno has some Covid issues and has postpone the game for tonight

We bumped up 4pts in the NET from our last win. I was hoping to get another win and keep moving up. We need wins. Saying that though, I felt there was a weird matchup that we had with Fresno. We seemed like we were in trouble there in that 1st half and didn’t really get going until the second half. They played those three 7’ footers and even though we are tall, we seemed to struggle with it.

On a side note, it would be interesting to see Queta and Dorius on the floor at the same time. Queta can catch the post pass out a little further like he usually does and with Dorius on the back side, of that double comes across, he can toss it high for him. If the double stays put, he can go 1-1. I would like to see that scenario. There wouldn’t be many teams with the height to fend off both of them. On defense it would be interesting to see how we might be at a disadvantage but both move well enough for big men to not be a liability if pulled out of the paint.

Are we sure that it was Fresno that had issue with COVID? The herald journal article made it sound like that it was the aggies that had the COVID issues.

Reading the fresno board the COVID cases were with USU. From their report Fresno is good to resume normal practices and team activities. This will put in jeopardy our games against WYO this week.

I apologize I made an assumption that I should not have. I was told as recently as three days ago at the Aggies had no Covid issues and in fact most had already dealt and should be immune from Covid. So I incorrectly assumed the issues must be coming from Fresno. I apologize to anyone I may have missed lead or offended

I don't think you need to apologize, and I don't think anyone was offended. Such a crazy weird year..... who knows where the next turn will be.

Yes he did. However, there are documented cases were people get it twice, the last I checked it was around 5. Not saying I know or have heard any details, just speculating.

Yeah I know people who have gotten it twice, 5-6 months later. It's usually not as severe the 2nd time for most people but still contagious obviously

Staying in hotels, eating on the road and traveling can be dangerous for Covid.

You can, in fact, get Covid twice.

Sad to hear this news for numerous reasons, not the least of which is that I was hoping to watch the game.

It was in fact within the USU program, though there's optimism that it was pretty isolated and hopefully won't affect future series. There's also a very good chance this game gets made up before the tournament.

If we so choose to make the other games up we can. The problem is finding open dates and availability. There is also like 10 days prior to the tornament to make up some conference games.

Actually, our NET ranking will be better off NOT playing this game at all. Playing the 214 ranked team drags our SOS down and winning does nothing for us (except for a shinier overall record), ditto for losing. Just scrap it altogether and see if there's another T1 team out there we can get a game against when our schedule opens up.

As an added bonus, Qutea gets more time to rest. Assuming everyone is OK, I see this as a positive outcome.

Nope, those won't be made up. Where they weren't conference games there's not much reason for either side to try to squeeze them in.

We also have an open date around Feb. 22-23. There are actually many other teams in the west that have similar open dates and have lost games as well - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=56403
