Very different energy than Coach Smith, but very sincere and clearly very thoughtful.

He'll have a different approach than Coach Smith, but I think he'll be great.

Sam Merrill is awesome. He is one of the greatest Aggies. Reaching out for Odom's number and saying he's willing to do anything really speaks a lot to how great Sam is.

Definitely thinks carefully about what he's going to say and doesn't divulge too much while still offering real answers and not cliches. I love that he thanked his former team(s) and players and coaches and schools, and admins, etc. You could tell this job means a lot to him and he really wants to be here - what else could we want from a HC?

I also liked that he showed gratitude and was over the top complimentary of the current Aggie players. As a player I would be pretty excited to play for this dude. I also think he will recognize rather quickly where we need help on the court and address those needs.

I'm excited to see what he can do! Definately a different feel than coach Smith, but that doesn't mean he lacks enthusiasm or won't be a great coach. He's going to take us to the next level!
