We can't complain about Smith gutting our roster and then start threads clamoring for Odom to take who is worth taking from UMBC. I don't like our best players leaving either, but it's a two way street with the ability we have to take guys from the transfer portal.

It is. As long as we get “ours” and get some transfers of our own, there won’t be any wailing or gnashing going on at the end of it. The hard thing right now is we are being gutted and haven’t yet done any gutting ourselves.

Leaving for Utah as opposed to a school 1500 miles away that I haven't heard of makes a difference......at least for me.

It makes a difference to fans, but in both scenarios it’s just players following coaches. Marco and Rollie don’t hate Utah like we do.

And as fans posting here, losing coaches and players to Utah is going to hurt worse than losing them to Arkansas or LSU.

Although I'm excited to see what Odom can bring in. He can make us forget about Worster real quick. I brought up RJ Eytle-Rock, but there are of course other guys he can snag from the portal.

Is it concluded Marco is leaving? Because I have heard he isn't from people on here and that he is from others. I hate it when we decide something is happening before it happens even if it does end up happening.

I’ve been wonder the same thing.

I've heard he has a GF here so he isn't gonna leave. But the thing is like all of this is rumors until we know anything so why do we act like it's over just based on a couple of rumors? Remember how many rumors there were about Craig Smith going to Minnesota and there was even a thread where someone was like "well now that smith is gone who is our best option?" Before anything had been conclusively stated. It's so annoying haha. Yes, he went to Utah but credible sources have proven that our rumors were going around a long time before even Craig himself knew he was leaving and he definitely didn't leave for Minnesota anyways. Until I see Marco saying he is gone I'm going to act like he isn't and honestly Marco's style of play will work really well with Odom. If we lose Marco then we lose Marco and I'm sure we can find someone just as good but until then can we all just chill just a little?

Not to my knowledge, but there has been a lot of talk about "following the coach that recruited you" in the assumed belief that Worster is transferring to Utah, so I was using the example of a star guard who is a great shooter that played for Odom.

We'll see what Odom can bring in whether it is an ex-player or the many other players in the portal. Our team is going to look a lot different next year and we don't know right now if that is a good or bad thing.

I think that BYU fans usually hit the tri fecta: Insufferable, obnoxious and offensive. You could add “delusional”to their character trait along with the contrasting view of self pity. Ute fans like to ride around on their high horse of in-state superiority, boasting their PAC 12 membership and thumbing their noses at everyone else as if they got a temple recommend and you don’t.

My best man and I were in SLC for an Aggie v Puke game. He came up with "obnoxious and offensive" to describe the Puke alums in attendance. And told our seatmates so.
