PSA: Add an hour to travel though Davis County Friday
With Construction on all major roads through Davis County expect to spend AT MINIMUM an extra hour commuting to the game if you are south of Roy. Friday is the worst day every week, my guess is Friday will be worse than normal.

Re: PSA: Add an hour to travel though Davis County Friday
Took me 2-1/2 hours to get from my place in Sandy to the restaurant in No Logan for a pregame meal with my brothers. Then came the 1-1/2 hour rain/lightening delay.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

For perspective, I live in Farmington and I'm planning on leaving at 3:45 for a 7 pm game. If I get there early, great I'll go eat. I don't expect to get there very early.

Re: PSA: Add an hour to travel though Davis County Friday
Every single time we have played down there, I have been amazed at how many people have expected to get down there in the normal two hours it takes and gotten to the game late. What I personally always do is drive down in the morning when traffic is lighter so I can get there in the normal time it takes, and then just kill time down there all day.

Why would you want to spend any more time in Provo than you had too?GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 11:45 amEvery single time we have played down there, I have been amazed at how many people have expected to get down there in the normal two hours it takes and gotten to the game late. Killing time all day in Provo sounds awful.

Next time get into provo through Heber City. It drops out of the canyon a couple of miles from the stadium. Sure it's a detour but it beats the hell out of hanging out in that place any longer than you need too.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 11:45 amEvery single time we have played down there, I have been amazed at how many people have expected to get down there in the normal two hours it takes and gotten to the game late. I'm in Syracuse. I work in Clearfield. My friend at work that I'm taking to the game lives in North Layton. I was suggesting that we leave work at 4:00, head home to change, then I'd come pick him up. Am I setting us up for a late 1st quarter arrival at the game?

Depends on how many covid quarantine pounds you packed on that you need to squeeze into your suit.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 3:00 pmI'm in Syracuse. I work in Clearfield. I drive up there pretty regularly. It feels like that stretch has been under construction for about a decade. I'm curious if there is an end goal to it or if the construction itself is the only goal.

Re: PSA: Add an hour to travel though Davis County Friday
You might want to leave at 3:30. Traffic will already be terrible. We left at 3:00 from Farmington against ND and to get to get past roy took us 45-50 minutes. Not to mention all the extra cougar fans traveling up it will be a nightmare.crazywookie wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 5:09 pmDepends on how many covid quarantine pounds you packed on that you need to squeeze into your suit.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 3:00 pmI'm in Syracuse. Hopefully the YBU fans will get stuck in traffic and won't make it to the game. I can hope can't I?

Re: PSA: Add an hour to travel though Davis County Friday
I office in NSL and have had some absolute horror stories traveling to Logan this summer. I 15 is difficult, but the hwy 89 project must be planned by rank amateurs. Some folks at UDOT need to be called to stand tall before the man. If UDOT were a private company they would have long been out of business. As it is , no one at UDOT is being held accountable for their gross mismanagement of highway upgrades.
Leave early folks, very, very early, and plan on a horrendous traffic jam from Layton through the Riverdale Road exit in Ogden.

@NavyBlueAggie
As bad as it is in Utah with udot at least they're doing something. I can't say the same for many other states.
I've been in very poor countries where the roads are better than, say, Chicago area.

Point well noted, yet I live in Utah and travel from SLC to Logan very frequently. Absolutely not impressed with the UDOT road building management. No offense my friend, just calling it as I see it.
Certainly some roads in Europe can be dicey, sketchy or just a challenge to attempt. Limited experience just in France ., England and BENELUX though. No Balkans experience to date.

Even without gameday traffic, Layton is a major bottleneck. I'd plan for more than an extra hour lol
Will respond whenever you ask what the band is doing

Is the traffic as bad southbound as it is northbound? We're heading to Vegas 2 weeks from today.

Re: PSA: Add an hour to travel though Davis County Friday
Southbound is bad as well, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Not as bad as northbound, but still bad. For about 7 miles both sides are down to 3 lanes.

If you fly then you don't have to drive through Utah County.

All I know is the last time I went down there traffic was a breeze afterwards because all the BYU fans left by the end of the third quarter.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 11:51 amWhy would you want to spend any more time in Provo than you had too?GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑September 28th, 2021, 11:45 amEvery single time we have played down there, I have been amazed at how many people have expected to get down there in the normal two hours it takes and gotten to the game late. Drive from salt lake has taken me about 2 hours 15 minutes the past few Friday’s around that time. That’s what I would plan on.
