(NAR) Zach Wilson
We may be frustrated at Jordan Love not getting a real chance to prove himself in the NFL, but at least he isn't BYU's golden boy Zach Wilson. Wilson has been downright awful, and has become a laughing stock in the NFL. Yesterday's shovel pass interception off of the back of his teammate was hilarious. The fact that he is messing up for the Jets makes twice as good.

I can just see the coach in the film room today saying, "Zach, buddy, you can't pass the ball to your teammate when he isn't looking. I mean you really just can't do that."

Re: (NAR) Zach Wilson
The fact that BYU seems to be just as good if not better this year than last tells me that perhaps its wasn't Zach Wilson that led to their success.

Or as some Jets fans say -- don't make a draft pick based on a highlight film against Weber State.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 5:21 pmThe fact that BYU seems to be just as good if not better this year than last tells me that perhaps its wasn't Zach Wilson that led to their success.

This seems like a great topic for Big Blue's House. It has nothing to do with Aggie football other than some closet Cougar fans who call themselves Aggies think it does.

Re: (NAR) Zach Wilson
But there's a valuable lesson with Wilson. He ran up his stats vs a very weak schedule (compare Wilson to Mack Jones of Alabama and his success with the Patriots). We didn't play SDSU, Fresno or Nevada (the 3 best teams in the Western division) this year and lost to BYU and BSU. Washington State was a good win but vs a team that was weak (1-3) to open the season including a 45-14 thrashing by a bad (4-7) USC team. Just a dose of realism at QB.

Re: (NAR) Zach Wilson
I don't really know who BYU played last year when Wilson was there, but if you compare Wilson to Carson strong (Wilson as a Senior and Strong as a junior):
attempts/completions/percentage/passing yards/touchdowns/interceptions/QB rating:
Wilson: 336/247/73.5/3692/33/3/196.4
Strong: 523/367/70.2/4186/36/8/157.1
Strong stacks up favorably. I think Strong will be a better pro than Wilson, but time will tell.

Re: (NAR) Zach Wilson
I am completely baffled that NFL teams drafted QBs high after last year. A guy comes out of nowhere and has a great season when they are playing half the games against garbage teams and with far less practice than other years and they thought "This guy is a sure thing."Yossarian wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 5:26 pmOr as some Jets fans say -- don't make a draft pick based on a highlight film against Weber State.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 5:21 pmThe fact that BYU seems to be just as good if not better this year than last tells me that perhaps its wasn't Zach Wilson that led to their success.
I really thought last year's draft was weak in terms of QBs. Lawrence was the only one I would have considered with a first-round pick(not that he's been great either).
