Fair

Post by mcaggie1 » January 15th, 2022, 7:55 pm

Unless the refs call a fairer game, we will have to have at least 3 guys get very hot. I am disgusted.

Always bad calls in basketball, poor shooting is dooming USU these past games. I was hoping for 20 wins this year, now I’m hoping for better than .500. It’s very concerning how much they are struggling in the Spectrum.

Aggies lost their sorts and momentum after Odom’s tech. Whether Odoms fiery butt chewing was warranted or not, I feel like that was a big call.

I think it has to do with the fact that we are not that good of a team right now. It was fun to see Rylan Jones catch a little fire tonight, but Ashworth was bad. Shulga I thought was going to be good and contribute tonight. He started to but then slipped into his worthlessness. In otherwords, we need more consistent guard play. If we do, we will pick things up a little. Oh, and what has happened to Horvath????????

I haven't watched a lot of basketball the last few years. I watched the game tonight it seems they called a lot of body contact fouls when a player is dribbling far away from the basket. Is that the new normal or was it just tonight?

This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

We’re just not that good. We miss Miller whether most people on this board want to admit it or not.

I disagree, what we miss is an inside presence on both ends of the floor, huge recruiting mistake by Odom

We could use a closer. Somebody who can hit some tough shots and make plays at the end of the game. We are a couple plays away from being 13-4. Like the fight in this team, tough loss (again) tonight.

Both are possible. All I know is we were a better team back in November when Miller was healthy. It’s probably a coincidence though I’m sure

Seems to me they need more practice, this team looks very rusty. I don’t know maybe I’m wrong, the team chemistry isn’t there???

Too much 1 on 1 ball, Odom would do well to go watch the Stew teams 2000-2011, lots of plays to use.

Is there another Wesley family member to sign up who is 6’7-6’11??

The staff could rightly recruit over half the team right now.

Half the team doesn’t belong in D1

Just need to be a little better in a few things. It’s frustrating we are close. That 1 on 1 in the end works if we have a Sam Merrill type player but we don’t. Not a bad play drawn up tonight, Rylan got a decent look. Other end of game plays haven’t given us much of a shot.

I'll give Odom more than 1 year before I see a glaring recruiting mistake

The whole team was shooting better in November. Horvath, Jones and Ashworth. No one is consistent right now and Miller is a huge liability on defense.

The only calls that really frustrate me are the charges or blocks. The inconsistency on those is really frustrating. Bairstow got called for a charge and then on an identical play Rylan got called for a block. I know they are judgement calls, but just call it consistent.

Amen. I get so tired of fans thinking the refs were the difference in the game. Make a FT, hit an shot, secure a rebound or a lose ball.

How many times tonight did we knock it away from one of our own players??

Guess what?? There were 17 fouls called on each team.

Yep, the refs while inconsistent were not the reason we lost. We just cannot shoot the ball well enough. We have major flaws on the defensive side of the ball as well as not having someone who is an Alpha and can create their own shot consistent enough. Maldonado was an absolute beast in the 2nd half and could not be stopped, same with Ike. WYO has a really good team and pieces that mesh well together.

We miss the pre-back injury Miller we had last year, which we haven't had at all this year. We don't miss the barely able to play through his back injury Miller we have had this year.

I don't think a three from the logo is necessarily a decent look...

Considering we had 3.3 seconds going the length of the floor I’ve seen a lot worse or getting no attempt at all, but I understand ya

With 3.3 seconds left and needing to go the length of the court, I thought it was a pretty good look. Open, no defender in his face, straight on. I thought he could have gotten a little closer but better to get the ball off than be too late.

After watching the replay, the charge on Bairstow could have easily been a flop warning on Wyoming. The dude totally flopped and was not squared up on Bairstow.
