Fackrell: TE
I'm sure we'll see more of Fackrell playing TE. I'm looking forward to this and it'll add a bit to our depth there.

Re: Fackrell: TE
I think this would be a terrible mistake. The dude is a stud at LB. Don't waste his energy at TE.
Re: Fackrell: TE
If he is up to 260 (as reported in the other thread), with his agility he would probably be a great option for a goal line TE/H-Back. If you showed it early in the season, then that is one more thing that teams would have to spend time preparing for as the season rolls on. You might not even have to use it more than once to get a benefit out of it.

Re: Fackrell: TE
I like it for a few plays here and there, especially in goal line situations where we can either throw the fade to him or hit him across the middle.

He would also be a good blocker and a great decoy...If he is on the field, the other team has to account for his whereabouts.Mr. Sneelock wrote:I like it for a few plays here and there, especially in goal line situations where we can either throw the fade to him or hit him across the middle.

Re: Fackrell: TE
Everyone realizes that he played TE for a few plays last season, right??? I'm pretty sure it was against Weber State that he caught a pass for a TD.

Re: Fackrell: TE
I don't want him playing TE anymore than what Mike Vrabel did. The most Vrabel probably played at TE in any given season was about six plays. If we play Kyler at TE for six plays, I'm fine with that.
Re: Fackrell: TE
I've never really liked seeing him out there on the goal line plays. I have a hard time believing that he is better at catching an end zone fade than someone like Swindall who is on offense and practicing it all day. It is what it is I guess. They have their reasons.

Re: Fackrell: TE
The play that was called when Fackrell would enter the game was a double corner fade with Swindall being the target on the opposite side of the field. So it's hard to complain about having two 6 foot 5 targets on the field at the same time. This should also tell you how reliable the staff thought 6'4" Alex Wheat was. Whichever player ended up having the ball thrown to them was totally up to Chuckie to make the correct read and deliver the ball in the proper spot.tkmad wrote:I've never really liked seeing him out there on the goal line plays. I completely disagree. No one is suggeting two-way full-time, but I could see him as a serious weapon on offense, if needed.

Re: Fackrell: TE
I guess no one remembers the game where they lined Fackrell up as a wide receiver at the goal line and tried to throw a fade to him and it went right through his arms and bounced off his head? It looked pretty awkward.

Re: Fackrell: TE
Ya, Fack should not be doing it if he can't catch. Although it seems that the D has the better athletes. We have 3 on the pre season all conf. team to one for the O. IMO, it's a concern if we have to put a D player out there cause we don't have weapons on the O.

Re: Fackrell: TE
The second one was Swindall that missed the ball. If Chuckie was throwing and not Harrison they would have been TDs.AggieDude wrote:I do. If I remember correctly, we went to that play twice in a row and came up empty both times.

Re: Fackrell: TE
His touch down was a great catch. If I remember right it was under thrown and he ripped it away from the defender. But of course I was on the opposite side of the stadium so maybe it just looked like a great catch from my seats. I like him in there for limited circumstances.
