Re: Current State of USU Basketball

There's no way Jackson Grant stays now. He was granted to leave. He was granted an opportunity to stay. As a walk on? If not how many scholarships do we have left? Jackson Grant will return next season as a walk-on. Did this change? https://twitter.com/JamieShaw5/status/1785781608739451021 Possibly...

https://twitter.com/mattnorlander/status/1785692452315083237?s=46&t=ZBGGEdfqpX642lyRULIScA so entry into the portal doesn't close today at all - it's just a deadline to notify anyone in the AD that one intends to enter - after that one could be entering the portal later this week or early next week...

well, the TP closes tomorrow; where is superstar Legas going to end up? Walk on at ybu? NMSU? Where pray tell? Portal closing only means that no one else can enter after that time period. Those in the portal technically don't have a deadline to make a commitment. 100% correct my Aggie brother.

I'm pretty sure finals are over. Most of the football and hoops players already went home a week or more ago.

I said this earlier but I'll mention it again here. This will be the last year of COVID seniors. After this year there will be a lot of roster openings and players like Barns that will get squeezed out this year will have more opportunities next year. I hope he comes to USU, improves his game enoug...

I was the first to say it and I'll say it once again, I will be SHOCKED if he ends up at Washington.

Heard it first was not first on Calhoun. This is his first tweet, on April 13. About 2 weeks after Calhoun was hired. https://twitter.com/heard_it_first0/status/1779047134488400136?t=HePgC93E69rr70lKWmzppw&s=19 But your main point still stands - he's been pretty reliable. Like I said in another thread, he knows he's coming in behind two seniors. He wants to come in and prove he's the guy for the 2025 season and beyond. We have become a program where kids are willing to give up starting spots at other schools to come to Logan and wait their turn.

Re: Transfer QB Offer

I am still scratching my head, a bit, as to what scenario, exactly, Coop was expecting/hoping for. The movements by the staff in the past couple of days tell me me that pretty much, regardless of entrenched returning starters, the coaching staff is going to add a player at every position every year...

Getting Braden Housley is about the fact that Albury and Allen have only 1 year left while Braden Housley has 3 years left. That's exactly what they have sold him on. He basically has a year to prove he belongs in the Mountain West. Does the coaching staff have anything in the works to bring on one...

The fact of the matter is, we have TWO quarterbacks. Not scholarship quarterbacks, TWO quarterbacks PERIOD. Spencer Petras has been named the starter. He is a 7th year senior.
