Ill put myself out on the skeptical of this guy. Calhoun wants three point shooting and the guy shot 23% in the WAC. He's also jumped around to every school, sure he's a senior so we don't care if he jumps but has he ever been part of a winning team? A point guard that isn't part of a winning team ...

Re: We need to start searching for a new head coach
A few years back there was a kid on DU's club hockey team that got offered a spot on the DU NCAA hockey team. That was big news! It is saying that maybe one every 10 to 20 years there is a single player on the ACHA team (USU's level) that could make an NCAA team. Back when we started the hockey team...

Q: How tall was Brian Green? A: 6'1". Q: Did Brian Green play PG? A: No, he played shooting guard. Q: Was Brian Green successful. A: Yes, we would have loved that shooting on our team last year, as a reserve he was named to 2nd team all-WAC. At 6'2" that isn't too small to play a shooting guard. At ...

Smith is well aware that the value of his investment into this team is very likely to appreciate at a rate that far exceeds most investment vehicles available, based on the example of virtually every pro franchise in history, and therefore he can, and should, pony up his own funds for any facilitie...

Thanks for the breakdown. This is an upgrade over Sakho and allows for a Twin Towers rotation if coach wants to run with it. Or the coach may say that Fresno doesn't have any bigs so we should try to match what the 9th place team in our league is doing and play at their level rather than enforcing ...

Didn’t we read somewhere that NIL could not be contingent on playing for a certain school? Doesn’t make sense, but I thought that’s what we talked about. That’s the idea but who’s going to enforce it. Put it in nil contracts that I they leave they have to pay it back. I don't think you could do tha...

I'd take him back. He'd give us a much-needed 3-point shooter. Looking at transfer portal highlights Shulga has improved and could be really good in this next season. I'm not sure how you could say he improved when you thought he basically walked on water while he was here. Or was he not that great...

Cleveland started out the season just OK. Then Sam got playing time and confidence and Cleveland went on a long winning streak. Then the injured 'starters' came back, Sam's time was cut and the Cavs have just been OK. Seems to be a pretty good in-season correlation. I'm sure there are other variable...

Having been to Kentucky a couple times, I’m shocked the entire state was able to pool together enough money to pay him half that contract on an annual basis, let alone the buyout. As a new incoming coach he probably doesn't want to counsel anyone out until he has a little more time to watch film and get to know the player and then have someone that he can replace them with. It doesn't do any good to get rid of J. Grant if you are only replacing him with someone with a lesser ...

Last time I checked, a coach's longevity isn't a metric most people care about. Take ESPN, for example. The first column includes each team's win/loss record. Other measures the public seems to care about include tournament performance and national rankings. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...

Honestly, the starting forwards before portal additions should be Johnson and Dallin Grant. Dallin Grant was a shooter in HS. So you think Templin is better than Osobor but he shouldn't be starting over Johnson or Grant? So both of them must be two steps ahead of Osobor, right? In that case we shou...

I'd even be OK if a player was given a free transfer if the coach leaves/retires/fired at the end of the season, otherwise, they got one shot and then have to sit out a year for a second transfer. I wouldn't necessarily love that but it isn't fair to have a coach recruit a player and then the coach ...

We lost to Bradley on the road. Would it not have been better to lose to a Duke or even an Auburn on the road even it was set up as a one and done? Perhaps. If we lose to Duke by 30 on the road but lose in overtime to Bradley it isn't any better to lose to Duke. Also, I would say that if we played ...

I don't see anyone who transferred who really lost out. I would argue that Ashworth didn't lead his team to the Sweet 16, but he was a starter and probably 3-4th option. He played well in overtime in the NCAAs. I don't think anyone here would have been happy with his 8.5% drop from 3 point land. To ...
