Re: Funk
Ashworth and Jones have not played a ton together. In the last few games, it has been interesting to me to see how often Shulga is the one setting up the offense with Ashworth playing off the ball. Interesting...and really effective. Any one of Shulga, Ashworth and even Bairstow can initiate and we ...

Re: MW best since USU joined?
Espn has us as a one bid league. I think we need another month to see if the rankings now have staying power. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I’m afraid we have a bunch of 60-100 teams just outside the tournament. But a lot of good teams. Agree with slcagg and Quack - will be interesting to see ...

MW best since USU joined?
The conference schedule is going to be tough - the Mountain West has moved up to #7 in Sagarin rankings, just below the ACC. Yes, the ACC. If CSU and WYO did not have injuries to all-conference (maybe conference MVP in Ike), we would be almost even with, or even above, the ACC. SDSU - 23 Boise - 43 ...

Hoping we see our best 5 together next week
Sorry for the long post... To start, I must acknowledge the Captain Craig Smith has had the best 2 years of any Aggie coach of my lifetime, and I am not young. Even better than Stew, which I thought we would never have. Lucky to have Smith, hope we keep him. However, I am desperate to see our best 5...

Anyone attending either of the bay area games in the next week? I will be in SF for work and going to the SJSU game Wednesday night. If anyone needs recommendations on places to eat, stay, or hang out DM me. As a side note, I think if Merrill's injury is bothering him at all we sit him for St Mary's...

"6-6 and 5-3 would have still been last in the division in 2016"
I agree with your overall point, but can you please explain to me how USU going 5-3 in conference last season would have kept them in last place in the Mountain Division?

Aggies projected to make 53-man rosters
Thought the projections from ESPN on who they forecast making 53 man rosters is interesting. They have the following making it: Penn - starter Alexander - starter Wagner - starter Lawson - probably starter Scales N Vigil Fack M Evans Mays Turbin and the following getting cut: K Williams Houston Shar...

Re: Missing Rector?
Rector's so often out of control that we lose sight of the fact that he gets to the basket (and sometimes scores :)) and the foul line better than anyone else on the team except Koby. Seems to me that in our consecutive wins against Fresno and Nevada our best offensive lineup was when Rector, Koby ...

Re: Final Possession
Interesting conversation. If I were a coach, I would likely let them play with no TO as well...although I'd like to see stats as to which strategy is most successful. Having said that, some possible reasons for the Duryea to call the TO there: - make sure your team knows score, jump-ball possession,...

Re: Is Rob Flygare coming out of retirement?
I for one think the slams against Flygare have been blown way out of proportion. He's not that bad. No, he's worse. He doesn't realize that we often have two players with the same number. He either can't tell or doesn't care that he's mispronouncing the names of about 1/3 of the roster. Sorry, Ron'...

USU FB alums career earnings
Have had some interesting conversations with my brother and friends recently around the topic "Which USU FB player went on to earn the most in the NFL?" I have never seen Merrill play, and only highlight clips of McEwen. I thought Merrill was very highly thought of coming out of high school; does your opinion stem from the fact that you think Merrill is not going to be good, or you think McEwen is just going to be excellent?

Re: Collette enrolling at Utah
Here is what I find to be most interesting - Utah owes DC absolutely nothing. They can continue to recruit for the next 12 months, and if they find someone else they want to offer a scholarship to, they are going to do it. At that point, DC has almost no other options but to stay at the U and play w...

It's not that we need another bowl game, it's that we need one here replacing one (namely the Potato Bowl). For record, I support everything I've seen thus far from Coach D. He seems to have recruited successfully in the short time he's been head coach. He beat a good Weber team. I support him. I'm just a little concerned how this came out of left field and took everyone by surprise. It didn't come out o...

Re: So, who starts Friday?
Anyone thinking that DC leaving is not a crushing blow is totally delusional. The team may play to about the same level as last year due to everyone else improving, but losing the 2nd best player on a team at a position with no depth will lower the ceiling on the season.

A few things I can confirm from very good sources. First, DC and his family had always hoped he would get offered by byu. They have no real tie to USU. Second, Byu, Utah, Stanford, and Villanova all contacted DC after the season and asked him to transfer. Third, the loss on Friday did factor in, to ...
