Re: Ian Martinez
One side benefit of all announcements is that I can watch the TCU game (yet again ) and see players that will be playing in Logan again next year. It’s been a while since I had the opportunity to see past players who will be back.

If you watched me type, you wouldn't need to ask. I mean, doesn't everybody type S when they mean V at least occasionally?QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 5:18 pmI just want to know how you confused us with Utah Valley when you looked this up.

Re: Schedule updates
I'm not mad at you, I just strongly disagree. I'd rather play a home-and-home with a competitive A-10 team like Saint Louis than play in Orem against a UVU team that went 16-16 last year. Final KenPom results for last season show UVU at #162 and St. Louis at #199. Every year is a crap shoot outside...

As I see conferences expand and schedules adjust to account for that, I wonder at what level a team becomes somewhat irrelavant - even if they make the NCAA tournament. On a whim, I tried from memory to list the top 6 teams in the 1) Big 12 2) Big 10 (do they still say the 10?) 3) SEC 4) Big East an...

I suspect that the weird part is why would UNLV - who should be able to recruit well - sign a suspect backup guard from Boise.

Re: Pope to Kentucky
If a potential student enrolls at BYU while not a member, they require an LDS leader endorsement in which they commit to living by the Honor Code - no smoking, no drinking, no sex, etc. It would be VERY awkward to have a head coach that didn't comply with those rules recruiting players and telling t...

https://twitter.com/mid_madness/status/1778271159957479560 So how can you be one of the best in mid-major basketball and probably not top 5 in the MWC last year? Re: Queta!!!
Queta had a great game in the G League. I believe it is the championship. 20 points. 13 rebounds. 9-11 from the field. 3 blocks. a steal. (2 TOs.) And to top it off - 0 fouls. Note: The ESPN line shows 9 baskets, 0 3s, 1 FT and 20 points so something doesn't add up. Several of the Celtic starters d...

So does this mean:
1) Tyson didn’t like Muss? Surely he could have succeeded with that much NIL money
2) Muss or his Musses didn’t like Arkansas
3) Muss was urged to move on
4) something else?

Hey if he wants the challenge Utah State can give it to him. I remember taking classes when a 40% was the high. Engineering will kick his butt IF that’s what he wants… I took a grad level stats/math class where we had 14 students. In fall quarter I got a Cminus. I dropped the other two classes in t...

except one year under Bill Evans. That year happened to coincide with perhaps my favorite day of March Madness in my lifetime - March 15, 2001. With a little research, I present the following: The day started in Greensboro, NC with 12-seed USU playing 5-seed OSU. Pre-game press conference where Ste...

Here is the obituary for those who missed it. Tunka Tolleson, a mysterious figure in the realm of college basketball coaching, met an untimely demise in a skydiving accident on November 13. He was a man of enigma, leaving behind no surviving family members to mourn his passing, and his past remains...

An unmentioned dark side of NIL
As we raised our family, we occasionally crossed paths with parents who (for kids as young as 6 years old) were adamant that they needed to push those kids for the financial benefit of a college scholarship. With the reality that there is more money in NIL than there is in (most) college scholarship...

I believe that Worster is injured. (Maybe from throwing a football 80 yards?)
If VCU wins and goes to the final destination (wherever that is), Utah media will not be covering it in detail.
If Utah wins, Utah media will be highlighting the accomplishment.
Go Rams!!

Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium has been known as The Launching Pad.
Maybe they should put a sign with that title over the head basketball coach’s office at USU.

Who are the most famous coaches who followed the money to a higher position and crashed and burned? Based solely on their performance as a coach.
I have a few in mind but wonder if it is less common than current opinion here portrays.

Re: Outside the box coaching idea - Coach K?
Even though college degrees are no longer a point of emphasis (it appears), it still bothers me that when they were supposed to matter Huggins was let go from Cincinnati when the new president discovered that in his 10(?) years as the coach the team had not a single degree among its players.
