Endless Line-up Potential

If Agbonkpolo had remained healthy we would have been decently deep last year. That being said, we did not have 9 guys with D1 starting experience going into last season, or perhaps any season I can remember. I can’t recall a season when we had more than 5 guys that had D1 starting experience.

Bully Ball line-up: Falslev, Akanno, Davis, Templin, Gateretse
Could swap out Gateretse for a pg if we need a ball handler more than the height to go along with the beef.

Re: Endless Line-up Potential

That’s the beauty of this roster, you have such a variety of players, yet all are experienced/talented. Here is a couple line-ups to think about. Attack the rim line-up: Albury, Falslev, Martinez, Akanno, Gateratse Extra Long line-up: Allen, Akanno, Anderson, Johnson, Gateratse Bombs away line-up: A...

Endless Line-up Potential

Two schollies left. Based on Calhoun’s interview last week, they are targeting an overlooked HS forward and then possibly a specialist. In either case I doubt those two will figure much into the rotation for this upcoming season. 9/11 players have been D1 starters with Templin and Davis being the ot...

Nice pickup. Very similar numbers as Uduje. Josh maybe has more hops but Akanno is a bit more physical. Will be really interesting to see how the minutes and roles and line-ups work out.

So no commit in 24 hours after the interview and no MTE announced. I’m not feeling too confident about the natty Calhoun promised in light of his track record this week. Likely waiting on Uduje to make a final decision Id guess Why would Akanno agree to that? This is feeling like the Welling situat...

Comparing last year's schedule to this year's

I think we’ll be slightly better than last year, primarily due to a better defensive scheme/coaching. That being said, we may not win more games. Here’s how I would categorize the games once you consider home/away, weather factors, etc. Near Locks - Robert Morris Should Win - @ Temple, NM, HI Toss-U...

Re: Jacob Conover

My biggest question about this commitment is whether his wife still has eligibility left to play on the soccer team? A bit of internet soothing says she should still have her COVID year left. Redshirted 2019, played 2020, 2021, and 2022 at BYU. Then she played at Florida for 2023. I would imagine t...

Tbh, I’d probably take ID over Wynott. I also think Tucker Anderson can provide what Wynott offered and is already D1 ready. That being said, I think Wynott, Hill, and Cox were all decent prospects. Will be interesting to watch their development over the next few years.

In looking through Calhoun’s last half dozen team rosters and minutes at YSU, this is what I notice: - Consistent 9 man rotation. Typically 9 guys play over 10 mpg and see the floor in every game. There are a couple others that will see spot minutes, meaning they see the floor in half the games and ...

I hope he gets an opportunity at MSU. Although if he was only seeing 16 min a game at Longwood, I doubt he’ll see the floor much at Michigan State. Maybe we’ll be able to see him face up with Osobor at some point.

Conover is a great pickup in my mind. For the 3/4 string spots you are usually bringing in unproven juco or hs kids. At least Conover has real experience, leadership ability, and been through the regiment of a couple big programs. I don’t think we are better with Tiller/Conover than we were with Leg...

MWC getting into the big early season tournaments

Well we’re choosing a European tour instead this year. I didn’t think those were mutually exclusive? I think the only rule about these international trips is you can only do one every four years. At least that’s how it used to be. There may also be some rules about incoming freshmen only being able...

YBU, Iowa, Iowa State, and the Chiefs are probably the most discussed in our stake but there are a decent number of Aggies and a few Utes, Mizzou, and Jayhawks sprinkled in.

Something that is getting overlooked is the HS recruits. We can pursue Wyoming's decommits. The one that we try to get is Oliver Faubert if he decommits. Oliver Faubert is a 6'9" forward that had offers to Arizona State, Seton Hall, and Ole Miss. They have 4 HS recruits. https://gowyo.com/news/2023...

Is it Andre Seldon Jr. (CB from TCU/NMSU/Michigan)? He’s showing up as committed to USU at On3 as well.

I believe we still have 3 spots to fill. I also think we don’t know 100% what Great is doing, but it’s highly unlikely he returns. Coach is probably keeping a spot open for him just in case.

Maybe Akanno wants to win a national championship. I know it’s about the transfer portal, but calling CSU a “winner” after every CSU player with a pulse is out of eligibility and has been replaced with what I’d call the least impressive transfer class in the conference is a joke. Not to get crazy with the comparisons, but ID reminds me a bit of a poor man's Zion Williamson.
