Re: Crazy idea for Stadium upgrade

Liability nightmare. Never get the lawyers to sign off on it. Every party needs a pooper that’s why we invited you …… If every little town and county fair can set up mobile carnival rides I’d think USU could figure it out. Yes perhaps those traveling carnivals burden the liability. I’m sure it woul...

There were quite a few FCS, CFL, and international guys drafted. How many players from the Dakota FCS schools were drafted? Seemed like several.

Re: State of the Program

Its' midway through the 5th round and I don't think anyone from the MW has been picked yet, so it's not just a USU issue. I think there are two CSU players in the next 100 best available. The MW could very well get shut out or get just a couple drafted this year. Down year for sure for the conference.

Re: Crazy idea for Stadium upgrade

This is a great idea. I think we have a certain mega donor that has a good relationship with this roller coaster company, so maybe he can pitch the idea. This is a much better gimmick idea than having a blue field. A roller coaster would be sweet, but I'd even take a tower ride, a swinging pirate sh...

Re: Drake allen

I think the biggest thing is probably that their is no obvious difference maker in the group. We will see, there are still several spots to fill. Imo we still need a good shooter wing type, unless everyone starts shooting much better. I mean, I think Albury and Gateretse look like significant diffe...

Re: Drake allen

If it makes us feel better, someone close to the UVU program said Drake has a good 3pt shot in his arsenal but due to an ankle injury and poor offensive scheme, he struggled from distance last year. He did shoot 36% from 3 the prior year at SUU, which is in the Isaac Johnson and Javon Jackson range....

Re: Drake allen

Ill put myself out on the skeptical of this guy. Calhoun wants three point shooting and the guy shot 23% in the WAC. He's also jumped around to every school, sure he's a senior so we don't care if he jumps but has he ever been part of a winning team? A point guard that isn't part of a winning team ...

Re: Hillstead Transferring

BYU’s O-lines are historically very tall. I’m not convinced Hillstead will succeed on their team and in that league but I could be wrong. He has most everything else going for him except for size.

Re: Visitors this weekend?

We have two coming early this week. I can't divulge who. Did these visits occur yet? I did see a guy who looked about 6'7"-6'9" with Eric Brown on a recruiting tour while in the ARC today. he was wearing an NBA Global Development t-shirt if that means anything. I originally thought it was Kiir Kuan...

Had a super sized DE in for a visit.

Also….this would be interesting. Another Iowa QB.

Don’t know who this guy is or if he is at all reliable but if this true, it’s a bad look and one we have to fix like yesterday. Can’t be not fulfilling promises. That will kill your whole program in a hurry (which makes me think there’s more to the story but perception is everything). https://twitt...

What are the expectations for Phelps? He’s an athletic and physically impressive 6’6” off guard/wing. Apparently he is a very good defender, a good slasher, gets to the foul line, but is a little unknown in regard to outside shooting. Anyone heard anything from how he did in practice or on scout te...

Aubin Gateretse

Huh. After watching his clip I'm struggling to understand why he wasn't even more dominant playing against bad teams and why he played only 24 mpg? He's got great size, he's coordinated, and seems to be a decent finisher around the hoop. Maybe it's simply just an issue of still growing into his bod...

BA had to protect himself in case Coop or Hillstead’s injuries from last year lingered, or if either one were to chase NIL money and enter the portal. So he was smart and did his homework and found a guy with experience, had the tools for his offense, and who was ok not be guaranteed the starting sp...

Re: Hillstead Transferring

After Petras goes from "worst D1 qb" (due to a broken Iowa offense) to an NFL draft prospect this season, there will be plenty of good transfer qb's knocking at the door to get into Blake's system next season.

Re: Eric Daniels

I'd take Steven Verplancken if Daniels could convince him to transfer. We really need some sharp shooters from beyond the arch and Verplancken is a Xavier DuSell 2.0 type of player. Their numbers are nearly identical over their 4 year careers (40% 3pt with 5-6 attempts per game). He may not start at...

Re: Current State of USU Basketball

Uduje had worked his way into a very valuable role as 6th man. A good 6th man is equally as important as a starter. I really like Josh and what he brings to the team in a lot of different facets. I hope Ian stays and Josh can accept being another conference 6th man of the year type player. Maybe ave...

Albury is a dynamic playmaker. I only hope he is equally good in the locker room and team chemistry wise. I’m not saying he won’t, but in order to recreate last year’s magic he also needs to fit in with the team. Crossing my fingers.

Those are good. I also don’t mind Bighorns. There aren’t many bighorn sheep around SLC but there are plenty in parts of the state. Especially the desert bighorns further south.
