Re: Funk signs with summer league
Anybody know why after signing with a SL team Funk would be working out elsewhere? https://twitter.com/taylor_swishh/status/1673423898145181696 I am not super familiar with the G league but do players have to remake a new roster every season? Bean was with the memphis hustle last year and seems to ...

Re: If Ashworth leaves, is he a “True Blooded Aggie”?
Also can we just take a second to appreciate Justin Bean ? I don't know if there is any former Aggie that is as active with USU athletics news than him. I don't think Justin Bean has the analytics to be one of the greatest Aggies of all time, but does he have the heart ! Definitely appreciate his d...

Re: Have to agree with coach
I see both sides. Obviously losing to Weber State like that is unacceptable. Last year was also one of the greatest athletic achievements in Aggie history. 3 games removed from that and the fan base is booing. That MW championship apparently didn’t provide much goodwill for the staff or players from...

With Bean and Miller announcing they’re moving on, it feels like the beginning of a new era. It’s not like this was unexpected, but I already miss having their experience and ties to a great run of Aggie basketball. Odom and his staff have their work cut out for them.

Re: Wake Up Call
The wake up call came before the season even started. This is a roster that has one player capable of playing at the top level of the MWC, and was never a team that was going to compete for a championship. If Horvath was playing the 4 full time instead of the 5 I would put him up there with Bean, b...

Re: USU - Worst luck in all of college basketball
What “worst luck” really means is that the Aggies significantly underperformed. Our offensive/defensive efficiencies suggest that our record should have been much better. If I were grading this year’s team vis-a-vis expectations going into the season I’d give us a D to a D+. We lost nearly every cl...

Re: Second half fouls for csu
Officiating is one of many variables that go into the outcome of a game. Of course the mindset is control what you can control. Make shots, FTs etc. That doesn't excuse consistently poor officiating. Some nights the shots don't fall and the margin for error is slim. The charging call against Bean di...

Re: Well...I guess that settles all the at-large talk
Easily the most frustrating Aggie team I’ve ever seen. They don’t make any sense. Honestly, it frustrates me that Miller took a spot when he should have hung it up. It’s frustrating to see nobody with a killer instinct in close games and it’s frustrating to see them lose 5 freaking home games. Yep ...

It will be interesting to see how we play them in Wyoming. We didn’t have RJ at home, and I think Maldonado will have a tougher time backing him down than our other guards. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’d rather get beat on 15-30 from 3 than letting Ike and Maldonado have their way. I’d pl...

Wyoming went on the road and beat Nevada by 10. Wyoming has proven to be one of the better teams in conference. They have two guys who can get a look any given possession (Ike/Maldanado), and the best 3 point shooter in the conference (Jeffries). Well coached as well. It's just a reminder of how sma...

We don’t have anyone that can create off the dribble and get a shot or set up a teammate whatsoever. Tough one tonight but there will be more. I saw Shulga do this mulitple times tonight. We just don't make outside shots. That's really it. When Ashworth is on, everyone else is off. When Jones is on, Ashworth and everyone else is off, so on and so on... Agreed. We scored on 7/8 possessions down the stretch before missing the 3 at the very end that technically made it 7/9. We are losi...

Yes, those calls impact a game. So do all the foul calls that put you in the bonus and allowed you to stay in the game. Also it was Jacobs. We don’t have an Adam’s on our team. And I thought Bean got him with his body. Anyways, it’s not like Bean was winning this game for you. I was actually much m...

I'm appreciative of what Coach Smith did at Utah State. I'm still unsure how much credit to attribute to him. Recruiting: I give him credit for getting Queta here. But he missed an awful lot more than he hit in terms of recruiting. And not just misses - bad misses. Liam McChesney, Kuba, Zahar, T Kni...

Re: One of the plays that killed us.
That's because we've led Bean to believe he's supposed to be a primary scoring option. He's always been an enabler who gets us second chances and whatnot. Irony is that if he'd re-embrace that role he'd be a double-double guy AND we'd win more games. As it stands, he's just a double-double guy. He ...

Utah box score if anyone cares. No surprise, but the arena was absolutely dead. Smith has his work cut out for him.

One of the strengths of this team will be versatility. Bairstow, Thelissen, Bean, and Horvath give us the ability to go super big or small depending on the situation.
