Re: Visitors this weekend?
Seems like a very similar player to Uduje
Seems to have good size and maybe could play some 4 in a small ball lineup.

Re: Roddie Anderson lll
He’s better than most of the guards we signed this year, and probably would’ve been a day 1 starter had he come here. I never understood the talk about him not being good enough for us. Zero chance im starting him over Albury, Ian or Falslev. His ball handling and defense are solid though, but the ...

Re: Chris Murray Thoughts
This feels like the level of analysis many people who didn’t cover Utah State had of us last year, picking us 9th, etc. We kept a lot of roster in tact despite losing our coach, returning 3 starters and brought in close to the most impressive group of transfers in the conference IMO. CSU sounds good...

Davis does really look like a Great clone, wouldn’t be surprised if in 2-3 years he will be courted the same way Great is right now.

Re: Isaac Davis to USU?
Great was awesome, but between him playing a ton of minutes and not wanting to foul out, he clearly didn’t even try to defend anyone besides his man in the paint. It was fine and probably by design from Sprinkle but it’ll be nice to not have to worry about that as much now if we have more scoring op...

Re: Great Osobor
I am sort of surprised that th Aztecs have not went after Great so far. According to Coach Dutcher, the only other spot he is looking to fill is a power forward. Q bulky guy that can hang down low and score. That is what Dutcher said today. Do you guys see Osofor as a Center or more of a Power Forw...

Either it wasn't true, or it's something that should have only been shared with paying subscribers on Cougarboard Premium. ...or they found some more NIL money. :noidea: Is "NIL money" at BYU code word for "tithing money"? No, it’s not. Weird, you would know? But I suppose if they were going to dip...

Re: Josh Uduje
Uduje would’ve been in the same spot as last year but we basically replaced Jackson with a guy who averaged 14 ppg and shot 38% from 3 as a 6’8 wing.
Would’ve loved to have him back, but he knew his minutes ceiling was pretty capped here barring injury.
Maybe he ends up at Weber or a WCC school

Re: Josh Uduje
You guys keep talking about Mason and Ian, but on this team, Anderson is the guy he would be sharing a position with. I guess if you can recruit a better player than the one you have, you should do it. I appreciate Josh, but his opportunity was going to be limited. Assuming good health, this will a...

Re: ALL the Point Guards?
We’ve come a long way from starting Abel Porter at point guard to complaining about guys who led their team in scoring (Allen) and assists (Allen and Housley) as our 2nd and 3rd string PGs. Oh and both are 6’4 Housley put up 23/5 on Utah, 11/3 on us. Imagine if Brown got hurt last year, we would’ve ...

Re: ALL the Point Guards?
Getting Braden Housley is about the fact that Albury and Allen have only 1 year left while Braden Housley has 3 years left. Honestly years left don't matter anymore. With unlimited transfers getting someone with 1,2 3 or 4 years left of eligiblity does not mean that much in the current landscape. I...

Here’s our lineup rotation assuming no great: Albury/Allen/Martinez Martinez/Uduje/Falslev Falslev/Anderson/Uduje Anderson/Johnson/Templin Johnson/Gatersen/Templin 9 man rotation. Maybe one more 7 footer ast the 10th guy. (welling?) Looks exactly right to me too. Could definitely use Welling to bee...

Just watched his highlights, Taylor Funk 2.0? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Not as much range as Funk, but a better mid-range game off the dribble. The turn-around, fade-away shot from the left wing was impressive. That is not an easy shot. He looks like he has plenty of range 75 3s at 38.1%

Re: 2024 depth chart tracker
I'm a little worried about the 4. Johnson can play it offensively, but he will struggle on D. Templin is going to be good, but can he stay our of foul trouble. Welling from Irvine would help shore it up when we need a different match up. Him and Gateretse have good length and seem like better shot ...

Re: Visitors this weekend?
Worst case, we get one really good player and one dedicated scout team player. To be blunt, every year we have guys on the team who aren't going to get on the floor. If that's what one half of the Welling turns out to be, that's no big deal. The fact that they're getting to play together is cool (l...

I concur that he is a definite upgrade over Jackson. However, other than being very excited about hanging on to our core from last year, I am underwhelmed by almost every other move. 2024 depth chart tracker
Now that the team is really starting to take shape, wanted to get a depth chart going as we add our last couple of pieces to the roster. PG: Albury, Allen SG: Ian, Falslev, Albury SF: Falslev, Uduje, Ian PF: Fish, Templin C: Gateretse, Fish That 8 man rotation alone looks very solid on paper. Basica...

Yeah I’d take the Welling bros even if one isn’t very good. Being from Utah they make stick around too if both can play out their careers here.

MW will be strong again next year
I’m starting to thing that the transfer rules will still be a net positive for the MW, but it’s gonna be tough to get deep in the tourney when like 10ish power conf teams are absolute power houses every year
