Re: Abu Wilson

Haha. Those 25ish years from 1983-2010 are my later teens thru my mid 40's. Lean times. Sorta tough years to be an Aggie. All things considered, I am really happy that my kid and nephew were able to play during the GA/MW era. I really believe BA is gonna get us on a roll again this season. Go Aggies!

Re: New commit - Clyde Washington (Purdue linebacker)

I am generally very happy to take all the Big 10 and SEC grad transfers we can get our hands on. They have been around the big-time and all the NIL $$. They are coming to Utah State only because they want to show out and make a difference and maybe build more of a name for themselves. I'm good with ...

Re: Article on Clyde Washington

Yep. If you are recruited as a Big 2 ($EC or B1G) level recruited talent AND our coaches and medical staff have done enough due diligence to believe you can really play and don't have some lingering injury, I am inclined to be optimistic rather than pessimistic. We roll the dice on lateral transfers...

Re: Ajani Carter???

I totally agree. In general, kids in their early 20's do not always see/comprehend the long-term effects of their short-term decisions. There are just not very many kids that transfer up and make it big. Just looking at the kids who have transferred away from Utah State, some have done ok, but as ma...

Re: Legas…gone

If we have learned 1 thing as fans of College Football, it is that the Transfer Portal can giveth, and the Transfer Portal can take away. In my view, as a G5 MWC program, the odds of picking up a player that gives us a net gain are quite good and we should explore it. Whether it is a former P5 playe...

Re: Transfer QB Offer

Well-thought out and well-stated reply. My guess is that BA will have to figure out if his plan B is up to snuff sooner rather than later especially with the schedule we start out with. Coaching college football can be a tricky business. There are a lot of moving parts. (No pun intended) Sometimes i...

Re: Transfer QB Offer

I understand. Coop has often been my favorite Aggie. In selfless manner, he has always given Utah State everything he could. The kid plays with a big heart. That is not to say he has been John Elway or something. If he does end up transferring to another school, I will always cheer loudly for him an...

Re: Transfer QB Offer

In BA's coaching career, a couple of things are starting to stand out. 1. BA's teams are just not going to be very disciplined. They just are not. Often, they will be plenty skilled and capable and fun to watch. But not very disciplined. 2. There will be drama around the QB position. Perhaps this st...

Re: Transfer QB Offer

I am still scratching my head, a bit, as to what scenario, exactly, Coop was expecting/hoping for. The movements by the staff in the past couple of days tell me me that pretty much, regardless of entrenched returning starters, the coaching staff is going to add a player at every position every year....

Re: Transfer QB Offer

If a guy is good enough to be signed by byu and asu, he must have some sills/abilities.

As a Grad X-fer, and as long as he is coming in with eyes wide open and an understanding of the QB landscape at Utah State, I really do not have a problem with it. It is a one year deal.

Re: Proposed Group of 5 Playoff

To me, this is beginning to feel like what the power conferences want is just a "Bridge too Far". The P4 keep hogging all the profits and all of the money in College Football. They are all getting rich. Meanwhile, how can G5 programs break-even? The deck keeps getting reshuffled to make even having ...

Re: Proposed Group of 5 Playoff

So let me see if I have this all straight... If the P4 leagues never have to leave their home stadiums in OOC play due to the massive bowl payouts the P4 conferences and programs collect... This sounds an awful lot like the G5 leagues are basically stuck playing a P4 programs on the road plus maybe ...

I agree to a point. 1. I could see a close game with the Pukes, but do not see us pulling it out in the end. Too many big draft horses and too many fast thoroughbreds. 2. As far as I am concerned, BSU can take their "special deal" and roll it up into a nice fatty and smoke it. And WSU/OSU can do the same with whatever special deal they have in mind as well. Now if USC, UCLA, UO, and UW come calling and want to join the MWC, the conference would quickly agree to some ...

Yep. Excuse the fans for hoping for/cheering for/expecting more than getting whacked at home by our FCS neighbor. Pretty remarkable that he still has the drive and a fire in his belly to get up and face the challenges of being a head coach at an FBS school. For that alone, BA is a pretty remarkable human being. I would argue that this gig at a G5 school is probably more intense than at most P4 programs. Kudo's ...

With the open and unlimited nature of transfers nowadays, I suppose it is just silly for either side to feel at all bad about any student athlete that chooses to transfer up, down, or laterally at any time.
