Re: Bracket Projection Thread
I decided to mock a full bracket last night using the committee's principles as best I could. I did not see StanfordAggie's post before I did mine, but I agree with the teams he has in as well as his first four out. Texas A&M is the wildcard and I could see them and St. John's being flip-flopped. B...

Re: 6 mwc teams projected for the nc2a's
Yes, we are looking at six teams but UNM either needs to win in Logan or make a run in the conference tournament. That said, Jerry Palm should not be the go-to (or lunardi). Palm is the 142nd most accurate bracketologist out of 174, according to bracket matrix. ESPN is 98. This is the most accurate...

Re: If UNLV beats SDSU, we likely play SDSU in the semifinals
Correct me if I’m wrong, but if SDSU beats Boise State, they then would be in a Tie with Boise State, and the loser of UNLV/Nevada. How does that 3 way tie shake out for seeding? How do we get San Diego State in that 3 seed? Imo best case scenario for Utah State would be to have: 2: UNLV 3: San Die...

Re: Simple paths to the 1 seed
UNLV win locks USU in the 1 or 2 seed. USU-UNM has a lot riding on it for the Aggies. UN-UNLV game looms large. Not a lock for the 1/2 seed yet. If we lose to both SJSU and NM, we fall to either the 3 or 4 seed depending on what happens in the UNLV/Nevada game. A win in either of those games locks ...

How about we find a new sponsor for the naming rights to the spectrum, remodel with suites that will generate more income? The Smiths are cousins of mine. Re: Bracketology - Jerry Palm
Palm has 6 MW teams in. That would be great but I’d be surprised if we get more than 4. Interesting to see the difference in the seedlings between Palm and Lunardi. Remember who pays their checks and which conferences are on their respective networks. That can result in positive bias towards the MW...

Re: USU v. utah 2024
I am just curious, why is everyone so confident we won't play the 3rd game? If the U goes into this agreement with every intention of canceling the last game, that makes zero sense for them. Either way, I feel like it is a win for USU. Because I will be shocked if college football as we currently k...

Re: What is going on in Las Vegas?
Net question: does AFA winning actually help USU? We play AFA twice and UNLV once, so I imagine the Falcons' Net affects USU more than UNLV's does. Air Force jumps 40+ spots in the Net and the game in Colorado Springs changes from Q4 to a solid Q3. The win at UNLV remains Q2. This game also eliminat...

Tony was by far the best we've ever had. I remember a game at Fresno where Tony was in Chat. USU had a decent lead at halftime and blew it open with about 10 minutes left. As the fans started to the exits en masse, Tony posted "If you are trying to avoid traffic, leaving now is not a good choice." ...

Thanks for visiting VCU fan. Agree with what some others have said. -Odom is a great coach and seems like a great person. -Stupid that USU doesn't put a required H/H in if a coach leaves to a new team early (would have forced the Utes to get their arses kicked in Logan again...plus a H/H with VCU wo...

Obviously you don't know about teams in the mid 60's to early 70's. Those teams were MUCH better than the current teams mentioned. The LaDell Anderspn teams were something special....and Freshman were not eligble to play varsity. Yeah considering I wasn't alive back then you are right. My view goes...

Re: Happy Sam Merrill Day
Underrated parts of this play as the shot went up:
1. Neemi setting a back pick to free Brito up for a rebound.
2. Bean beating his guy to the front of the rim.
If Sam's shot doesn't go in one of those two dudes is getting the rebound. Great play design and effort.

I think Nevada winning tonight may help us for a few reasons. 1. We play Nevada twice and NM once, so Nevada has a bigger impact (double?) on our Net. 2. Feels like there's no way the committee takes 5 MW teams (although if all 5 end the season with their current Net ratings we absolutely should hav...

Re: Spectrum renovation?
I thought the last study showed that a renovation would cost as much or more than a new arena. I would think that a renovation could be done in the off season if done right. BYU did a renovation of the Marriott Center that involved ripping out the concrete and changing the size of the rows and it d...

Why does Odom insist on throwing it to half court and calling a timeout? Teams know we're doing it and with Boise up 3 and trying to foul it made no sense to do.
