Re: Football Only NIL Collective

I know Dee Jones has quite a bit of money and has supported athletics quite a bit in the past. I'm sure he's also got quite an extensive network of Aggie booster friends. Those are important things to ensure a collective works. I'm also far less than impressed at how this collective has rolled out t...

Re: NIL and Jersey Sales

Pretty sure you aren't allowed to mix school and player when it comes to NIL. So you could either have a player name and number on a non-school jersey, or a generic jersey number with no player name on a school jersey.

Re: Blake Anderson Interview

He told it how it is. NIL is just a will wild west fiasco right now that is not going to get any better. Nice to hear him talk about the offense needing to change and utilize other parts of the field. I have some optimism that he is going to be able to put an effective offense on the field this fal...

I've never seen that name before today, and now twice in this context?
Pretty sure their cousins and also nephews of one of my high school football coaches (Carson for sure is)
Sounds like quite a litigious family.

Call me a stickler, but renewing a contract that would have been renewed irrespective of who is acting as our AD and is hard to consider a “donation” based on what the arrangement entails doesn’t really count in my eyes.

Re: Why people should be disappointed if we don’t win the 2023 MWC title

Our team has more talent than it has had in a long time regardless of the position with more players to come. The vast majority of the new recruits start playing for us this semester. Other teams Fresno State lost their star quarterback along with every good player that they had. Boise State is not...

Re: Home and Home with UTEP

I really like these type of agreements. Playing other good G5 programs that are located in good recruiting areas on a home and home are the types of matchups we should do more of. UTEP missed on a bowl game but did beat Boise this year. I like the series with UTEP, but this is not a visit to a good...

Re: Home and Home with UTEP

The home game occurs in the year we go to TAMU and James Madison, which was needed. I assume we will add an FCS team as well.

The away game occurs in the year we host Oregon. Good balance to that schedule now too.

We could easily start a collective and start generating returns for our players. The question is if we have the right group of guys with the proper combination of time, skills, and desire to do it.

Re: So what are we calling our NIL collective?

I hate to be that guy, but I think we are in trouble as a society with how this is going. Where people would rather donate 5 million to get better football players on campus instead of 5 million for something useful on campus. Don't get me wrong, I love college athletics. But I just can't help but ...

I like your thoughts my Aggie brother. Every few years we end up with a lopsided graduating class. Why? Because every few years we load up on JuCo kids in an effort to win, get a higher-paying gig, and get the hell out of here. Some coaches succeed, others have failed but the ones that do succeed l...

State of Recruiting (As I See It, At Least)

I saw a thread that started to dip into our current recruiting approach and wanted to branch off to give my understanding and opinion of what is going on and what is the best path forward for Utah State. "Utah State is getting a rep as not recruiting local talent" A few things here: 1. This year is ...

Re: Noelle Cockett resigning

I think this means she is probably worn out and ready to do something else. The usual term for a university president, nationally, is about 7 years. Some go longer and some less. But I don't believe it is fruitful to try and "read into" why this has occurred, other than to say that she has probably...
