2023 KICKOFF and WEEKLY PICK'EM

Post by AGinNEIowa » August 5th, 2023, 7:45 am

28 days until the AGGIES kickoff!

That means it's time for PICK'EM!
Kickoff Pick'em and Week 1 links are posted below and in my signature. Please note that I won't be listing all of the games in THE QUAD threads this year, you will need to go to the Google Sheet to see the games and select your winning picks.

KICKOFF - 75 Games, all picked by Saturday of Week 1, and tiebreakers. Braggin' Rights to the winner.

Online Entry Form is here Deadline to enter all 75 and the tiebreakers is 10am 1 Sept (which is kickoff for game 3)
Tiebreakers are Total Losses for each of 6 teams (highest ranked from each of P5 conferences at end of last season and ND) and Total Points Scored by USU Aggies - this is before Bowls -so include Conf Champ losses and points.

WEEKLY PICK'EM - 15 games each week for the whole season.
This also includes the Who The Hell Cares Game - 1 game each week from lower division football.

Week 1 Entry Form is here - Tiebreaker is margin of victory for your pick in the USU at iowa game (USU Wins then use Negative points)

WTHCG - This game is part of Weekly Pick'em -each week I pick a game involving 2 non-FBS teams, usually D2 or D3 with the occasional FCS game thrown in.
This week I'm dissing on UTEP. So many times people have suggested them for potential conference mate, only to be shot down by a vocal group, so here's Week 1 WTHCG
The University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals travel to El Paso to kick off their season in Week 1. This FCS team in the Southland Conference is coming off a 12-2 season in 2022 which ended in the FCS SemiFinals against NDSU with a 3-point loss 32-35.
The University of Texas-El Paso Miners host the Cardinals in week 1- but will be playing their second game of the season. They open with a game AT Jacksonville St in week 0. The Miners were 5-7 in 2022, 3-5 in CUSA matchups

Both Contests (Kickoff and Week 1) include games from Week 0 (Ohio at san diego st on Sat 8/26 and North Carolina St at UCONN on Thur 8/31)- those games must be picked before they kickoff, the other games have to be picked before 10 am on 2 Sept
New this year - all games have drop downs - so you select the winner and don't have to type on your mobile device!

Good Luck! and as always - GO AGGIES!

there can't be a winner without at least one loser -you're the best at making everyone else not be last!

It seems like I have about the same record as you, except for 3 years where I had a streak of WTHCG wins

So do I, it takes time every Sunday I have to dedicate some time time - but it's fun to see people's choices and the weekly movement in the standings. I'm glad so many participate, and enjoy it - my little bit of service to the USU online community

I was very confused by WTHG because UTEP is playing at Jacksonville State not home vs Incarnate Word this week. Figured it out eventually

I have you muted. I can't even see the message I'm responding to. I assume it's just more Iowa corn chatter.

I had to look nerf herder up to know what you were talking about. I am no scruffy looking nerf herder . I guess I do not qualify as a super Star Wars nerd nor do I qualify as a super pickem player either.
