Spida Mitchell
Just saw a tweet from Utah Jazz that said Mitchell is coming to be an honorary captain for the game against Air Force. Can anyone confirm? Would be off the hook if he comes!!

Re: Spida Mitchell
Both the Hurd and U of U are trying to sway him to come to a game. The U tweeted a picture of a Mitchell U of U blackout jersey they pre-made for him. It's been fun to watch.

Actually, unfortunately you didn’t see that tweet from the Utah Jazz. One does not exist. Usu is trying hard to get him to come but he hasn’t acknowledged it. Would be incredible if he did, but I’m skeptical it happens.

Nyborg here is asking Mitchell & O'neale to come be flagbearers via Twitter. He's not announcing they are coming.AGGIEFIGHT wrote: ↑September 14th, 2018, 9:34 pmNyborg is on the coaching staff - his tweets should be solid

Hope they can make it. Their attendance would help build excitement and get Maverik rocking.

Been following this on Twitter for the last few days. He tweeted "Might have to make this move" about an hour ago. And the Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox responded "I promise you won't be disappointed @spidamitchell. The @usuhurd is legendary. See you there?"
Going to be an epic night.

He's full on a BYU fan, despite going to Utah State, but still shows us respect. His wife Abbyi is all Aggie through and thorough.

Re: Spida Mitchell
With most politicians I agree, he's a different breed than most. I know him reasonably well and her doesn't seem to be motivated by votes like most politicians are. I have seen him defy his party and take unpopular stands with the legislature. Not trying to turn this into a political discussion, but I'd love to hear why you think he's motivated solely by getting votes.

He seems genuine. He writes about his wife or being a father sometimes and it's very admirable.

Spida went to Utah and wore their jersey last night. I think he pretty much has to come up to USU on Saturday now.

That's the second game he's attended at Utah. Pretty easy when you live in SLC though. I think he'll be there on Saturday.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑September 16th, 2018, 12:31 pmSpida went to Utah and wore their jersey last night. I think he pretty much has to come up to USU on Saturday now.

From what I’ve heard about Donovan, I’d be really surprised if he isn’t there. He is a class act and all about being involved in the community.

Re: Spida Mitchell
Mitchell is the guy that randomly showed up at some guy's summer BBQ after a Twitter invite. It would be extremely out of character for Mitchell not to show up, especially after USU going to to the trouble to make Donovan and Royce special jerseys for the game. It would also reek of favoritism to attend after the U of U invite but not the USU invite. Not good local PR for the Jazz for him not to show up.
I think it'll happen.

Re: Spida Mitchell
Nobody has a clue what his plans are for the weekend. He may be out of town, committed to something else, or whatever else. If he doesn't show up this Saturday, we can hardly claim favoritism or that somehow we've been slighted. I hope he comes but if he doesn't, I'm certainly not going to think any less of him or the Jazz. That would be silly.

Re: Spida Mitchell
Met him once back in Louisville two years ago. Just a genuine person. Can not believe how fortunate the Jazz were in grabbing him. Amazing the ying/yang effect of Hayward leaving.
And I hope to hell he and Royce will be there. Would just add to the electricity.

Re: Spida Mitchell
I mean, I will still love Donovan even if he doesn’t show up. I just think It’d be a little strange to show up to Utah’s invite but stiff USU. The best tact would have been to show up to neither unless he could show up to both.
Then again, the Jazz did draft Grayson Allen, so maybe bad PR isn’t a concern. Rock Chalk!
I really wish USU would have invited Joe Ingles. That guy is great.

Ingles lives in Australia and goes there for the off-season. While it would be cool, I don't care if these guys show up or not. They owe us nothing.
