1280 interviews and coverage
Does anyone else find it interesting the lack of coverage this year? In the past Hans and Scotty have hosted a show from Matt or Gary’s office during camp. They used to have interviews, especially with both Matt and GA in the past weekly. We also heard much more from players too. Do you think this is intentional from GA or 1280. Thoughts?

Re: 1280 interviews and coverage
Utah is ranked and BYU is preseason national champs so Hans is spending his time at their practices while Scotty holds down the fort at the station.
Re: 1280 interviews and coverage
This could also have something to do with the new docu-series that ABC4 is doing with the Aggies this year. Coach A may be only holding a set amount of interviews for himself and players because of the material that is being put out on that program. Just a thought!

You've got to be kidding right?! I've never seen this much coverage for the aggies.....ever. Between the 2 different podcasts, ABC docuseries, MW wire...we are getting a ton of coverage.

Re: 1280 interviews and coverage
I was thinking that it's kind of nice to get that game out of the way. It seems that for a few weeks leading up to it, all media can think of covering is that game. After next week, it'll all be over before the end of next Thursday, and then we can move on with the season.

Re: 1280 interviews and coverage
I meant 1280 coverage specifically. One of my favorite shows all year is when Hans and SG host from the coaches office overlooking Maverik Field during camp. Also there have been way fewer interviews from GA and players than in years past. I guess I am just wanting more for my football fix.deltaaggie wrote: ↑August 20th, 2019, 4:16 pmYou've got to be kidding right?! I've never seen this much coverage for the aggies.....ever. Re: 1280 interviews and coverage
I love how much Scotty is doing, and between all the podcasts, news coverage, articles, etc. I’ll agree that it does feel like USU coverage is at an all time high.
BUT
It is pretty infuriating to listen to Hans list off the 6-deep on the Utah defensive line by memory, break down the BYU offensive scheme in detail, do deep dives into schedule breakdowns for Utah, talk for 20-straight minutes about theoretical situations BYU could find themselves in....and then ask Scotty what year in school David Woodward is and what non-conference games the Aggies are playing this year.

If it’s infuriating to you, then don’t listen to 1280...stang wrote:I love how much Scotty is doing, and between all the podcasts, news coverage, articles, etc. I’ll agree that it does feel like USU coverage is at an all time high.

Re: 1280 interviews and coverage
Same here. I can't believe how much coverage we're getting from everywhere. I have exhausted myself just trying to listen to podcast after podcast and click on every article.travelingagg wrote: ↑August 20th, 2019, 4:47 pmI was thinking that it's kind of nice to get that game out of the way. Scotty & 1280 are also doing a great job.

In 2018, their radio lead in used to say something like "Home of the Jazz, Utes, and Cougars." Glad to hear they have added Aggies to it this year.TheAKAggie wrote: ↑August 21st, 2019, 6:52 amBro, you outta shape!Roy McAvoy wrote:

I was just curious if maybe GA this time around has a different policy in regards to talking to media.

1280 interviews and coverage
MW wire - can’t pronounce Tipa (source Boise State preview released Sunday). Most of what I hear is how they were high on USU in January, but have backed off that enthusiasm.deltaaggie wrote:You've got to be kidding right?! Wild Bill and Aggies all the Way podcast - How much attention is this bringing from non Aggie fans. I like what they are doing, but it’s not reaching potential fans, just current fans.
ABC docuseries - we’ll see they haven’t released anything yet.
I’ll agree with stang. Hans has more football knowledge, and a better grasp of the of BYU or Utah football programs than Scotty does for USU. I like Scotty on the call, but wonder if he was spread a little thin.
I hope there is a coaches show starting Tuesday, but it seems like there are fewer media appearances on the schedule with GA.
*editing post to say I’m excited for the coaches show on Thursdays and next Wednesday this year. Hopefully this shifts more focus to the upcoming opponent.
I hate to go negative, but the coaches shows were on 1280 AM in Salt Lake. I love the coverage, but I am concerned that there is less following a 11-2 season.
That is a big part of the reason 6.5 wins is the over/under this season in Vegas.

Scotty G, much like myself, has never been accused of being thin.Full wrote:I like Scotty on the call, but wonder if he was spread a little thin.
