Game Ball

Post by mcaggie1 » October 20th, 2019, 8:24 am

A deserving candidate to award the Game Ball to is Bartolic. His punting was spectacular at times, and solid all night.
Special teams in general were outstanding.

Five of the seven punts were inside the 20. That could be a huge Factor next game in making air force go long fields.

To be fair, a few of these punts turned out well because they were so short the Nevada return man coyldnt get under it and they then rolled forever.

To be more fair, he nailed two punts that were inside the 10 yard line, one on the one, that gave us the chance for a safety. The bottom line is that he kept UN in poor field position much of the night.

The punt that he kicked and it hit the 3-yard line and then did a backspin to the 5 that thing was a thing of beauty.

Scarver gets the game ball in my opinion. He also was about 1/10th of a second too early on what would have been a punt block anyway. That would have been one of the best special teams performances in history if he'd held on just a twitch longer.

That's the name I expected to see when I first opened this thread.

I thought Andre Grayson had quite a nice night overall. He had a few miscues, but was solid for the better part of the game.

Actually this.
He was huge. Give it to Scarver or Grayson.

My purpose for this thread was to compliment our punter. I said he could be a candidate for the game ball. I too think, as in most games, that there are several guys that deserve mention for a game ball. Scarver, Bright, Grayson, Woodward, and Bartolic all had good games, and there were others too. I am happy that this years punting is improved over last year.
