And the BYU spread is...
USU -6.5...
I hope it doesn't move too much before I get to Vegas on Friday.

Bet the farm on the cougs. Literally, if you have a farm, bet it.
This line will move fast and significantly.

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

Re: And the BYU spread is...
That seems a little high to me, but the team is going to come out motivated to get the victory.
Re: And the BYU spread is...
We think we know the Aggies and I would guess that most of us think it would be easy money picking BYU with this spread.
I noticed yesterday morning that the UNM-Hawaii spread was Hawaii -10.0. I thought that was surely too close and that Hawaii would easily cover.
I kept my eye on that game and saw Hawaii was leading 45-10 with less than half of the fourth quarter to go.
I checked back a few minutes later, and New Mexico had scored three touchdowns in the second half of the fourth quarter to cut the score to 45-31, and had the ball again with about 2:00 remaining. They had driven to within the Hawaii 30 yard line and had a chance to score a fourth touchdown to cover the spread. Hawaii ended up intercepting it near the goal line, but the game came down to a single play that determined which team covered the spread.
The lesson is that the wisdom of the crowd (the line) knows more than I do. So, there is some reason to believe that USU should be favored by 6 or 7. But maybe the crowd didn’t see the late game last night.

BYU’s offense won’t be anything like what we played against last night.
Their DL will be though. Especially Khyris Tonga

Valid point, but on the flip side, Air Force wasn’t picked to win by 24 points yesterday.dogie wrote: ↑October 27th, 2019, 1:53 pmWe think we know the Aggies and I would guess that most of us think it would be easy money picking BYU with this spread.

Re: And the BYU spread is...
We were going to come to town, but we ended up heading up to the World Series last week - and now my spousal goodwill is virtually nil. We've made a last minute decision to pass on BYU.AgMac wrote: ↑October 27th, 2019, 6:43 pmI said friendly wager. Then I asked what you propose? If our offensive line can give Jordan Love time, I think we win. If we can get a run game going along with that, we win big.

Re: And the BYU spread is...
I would look for GA to want to cram the ball down their throats all game long with Warren and Bright. BYU is ranked #121 against the rush.AggieUprising50 wrote: ↑October 28th, 2019, 12:16 pmIf our offensive line can give Jordan Love time, I think we win. We have gone against the #3 (SDSU), #11 (AFA), #12 (LSU) rushing D's already this year - this BYU team may be the worst rushing D we see all year.

Re: And the BYU spread is...
Who could have predicted? I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see it continue to slide toward a pick 'em. It could even swing to favor the cougs. Not likely, but possible.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑October 28th, 2019, 11:36 amLooks like the spread has dropped to 3 a lot of places.

Re: And the BYU spread is...
Vegas knows what's up: BYU loses to bad teams and beats good teams. We are a bad team at home, so we should be favored by a field goal.AgMac wrote: ↑October 28th, 2019, 1:11 pmWho could have predicted? The announcers made it sound like he was ready to come back in. But since Burt came in I think we were just waving the white flag.

Re: And the BYU spread is...
Home teams are generally given a field goal on the spread so this game is basically a pick 'em which is disappointing that our season is turning out this way given that we are only favored by a FG at home against a team that hasn't won even a share of a conference title in 12 years.
