This gets repeated very often by Aggie fans as if it’s the gospel truth. The reality is we have no idea what kind of hands we are in next year.LKGates wrote:Best of luck.

It just kind of pisses me off seeing Aggie fans on Twitter not showing him the respect he deserves by saying it doesn’t really matter he’s leaving because we have Columbi.
I can’t imagine Legas beating out Columbi next year though.

I heard he is leaving because he failed his pottery elective and is academically ineligible for the spring game.

Re: Love to NFL draft - speculation over
I could not be happier for him. He has done so much good for the program while here. Even though this year did not go as everyone planned you did not see him soaking in any sorrows. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe he finishes up his degree this December or Spring. Be awesome to see him drafted to a team that has a starter already then he can spend a year or 2 learning the system before being thrown to the wolves. Thank you Jordan for carrying yourself with so much class. Look forward to following you in the NFL. I hope Jordan goes out and just tears it up in the bowl game.

Re: Love to NFL draft - speculation over
Yep. We may or may not be in great hands. It is a mystery at this point how they will do. That is why it was stupid the negativity Love got at times this year. We had a once in a lifetime NFL talent at QB who led us to an 11 win season and some people put the blame on him this year for us losing a few more games. The team might be better next year, but we won't be better at the QB position. We probably won't be better at the QB position for a very long time. Hard to replace a guy of his talent.2004AG wrote: ↑December 10th, 2019, 6:41 pmThis gets repeated very often by Aggie fans as if it’s the gospel truth. Thank you Jordan for letting me believe you actually might transfer so hearing you’re going to the NFL hurts less. The threat of transferring made me hope he would enter the draft when before I was hoping selfishly he would come back to USU.
Really though I hope he is very successful and it give me a reason to watch the NFL again.

I wish fans would say how bad we are going to suck next year, and that all three quarterbacks are horrible. That’s what real fans should do.

Re: Love to NFL draft - speculation over
There is a difference between being negative and pragmatic. He didn't say they were horrible, just unknown.
When Love went out against Wyoming, they didn't move the ball particularly well. That could be for a lot of reasons, but it will be tough to replace a NFL caliber QB. They have 9 months to figure it out, players graduate every year. Maybe they will improve with other guys filling the roles, but he isn't a player that can just be replaced.
I wish him well, the more successful alumni are in the pros, the better selling point it is to recruits. Selfishly another year would have been nice, but it is tough to turn down that type of money, particularly when he already has a degree.

Re: Love to NFL draft - speculation over
I get what you and he are saying. I am simply pointing out that there is nothing wrong with having high hopes for Love’s replacement. I agree that it is unknown how next year’s starter will do, but the alternative to having hope and positive thoughts isn’t enjoyable. Best of luck to Love, and here is to hoping for a great replacement to step up next year!NowhereLandAggie wrote: ↑December 10th, 2019, 9:22 pmThere is a difference between being negative and pragmatic. Don’t be ridiculous. That’s asinine. Nobody is saying that.ususports wrote:I wish fans would say how bad we are going to suck next year, and that all three quarterbacks are horrible. That’s what real fans should do.
Saying we won’t miss Jordan is what pisses me off. We will.
I think Columbi is good. But he’s unknown. Hopefully we are on good hands but we won’t know until next fall.

Re: Love to NFL draft - speculation over
Worked for Oklahoma and LSU. Not sure they will find Joe Burrows or Jalen Hurts, but it is possible. Truthfully, I'd like to see another Robert Turbin, but running backs aren't as critical as they once were.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑December 10th, 2019, 9:29 pmWould the staff ever look to a grad transfer QB?NowhereLandAggie wrote: ↑December 10th, 2019, 9:22 pmThere is a difference between being negative and pragmatic. I have been following the NFL Century team and only one RB played this century, Emmitt Smith. He was not in his prime by any stretch during this time. Everyone is throwing the ball so much, there are no dominant backs any more. Players see that as well and many of the best athletes play other positions.

You’re arguing with yourself. I’m sure as hell not making anything close to that argument. I never said we would suck next year. I think the other QB’s have potential. I can’t wait till next fall to see what we have in them.ususports wrote:I get what you and he are saying. My point that you are missing, is more about how good Love is and how hard it will be to replace him than anything else.
