Re: Spring Ball
The first practice is Tuesday the 10th. Only 6 of 15 practices which includes the spring game are open to the public.

Re: Spring Ball
And due to scheduling the spring game on Thursday, it may as well be closed unless one lives in Cache Valley. I just don't have the extra four (4) hours to make the round trip for a game that formerly was on a more convenient day to plan for or schedule travel to.

This is probably the worst decision that has been made for the football program in quite some time.NavyBlueAggie wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 12:49 pmAnd due to scheduling the spring game on Thursday, it may as well be closed unless one lives in Cache Valley. Can we get some insight as to why they did this?aggies22 wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 1:05 pmThis is probably the worst decision that has been made for the football program in quite some time.NavyBlueAggie wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 12:49 pmAnd due to scheduling the spring game on Thursday, it may as well be closed unless one lives in Cache Valley. Someone from the AD reading this: Why did you make the annual spring game on a Thursday? Can someone please answer this?

Sounds like oleblu is our source for an answer then. According to his posts, he suggests he donates more than everyone.

Re: Spring Ball
I shall not attack, because as Rhett said to Scarlet quite frankly my dear I do not give a damn.
I have zero interest in spring games. If I was to get after the athletic dept. It would be for something more important than the starting date of the spring football scrimmage.

Re: Spring Ball
Instead of complaining why don't you find out why they did the spring game on a TH?

Re: Spring Ball
It’s not just the scheduling of the spring game, if you look at the spring schedule, nearly every practice is closed? Very frustrating as a fan!taniataylor wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 3:53 pm...and yet....they still scheduled it for a Thursday.....dang it oleblu...do better....just kidding, just kidding......do not attack, I repeat DO NOT ATTACK

Re: Spring Ball
With new Coordinators, certain new and promising players, and some serious potential for real execution and formation changes i can understand a bit about why many of the practices are closed. I'm still frustrated about the spring scrimmage being on a Thursday which may be a question without an answer.

Re: Spring Ball
I have no problem with having close practices. The team is trying to compete for a Mountain West Championship not a spring ball championship. There are several open practices including Saturday the 28th and 4th I plan on making it up to one of those to get an eye on the team since I won't be able to make it up for the spring game due to a work conflict.Agzrule wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 5:33 pmIt’s not just the scheduling of the spring game, if you look at the spring schedule, nearly every practice is closed? Re: Spring Ball
Probably because it was free and people brought their annoying kids. Stupid nincompoops trying to raise their kids to be Aggie fans. I wish they would stop doing that so we could continue to complain about how small our fan base is.

Re: Spring Ball
Now the pot is really being stirred., and well done. Yet waiting for a coherent reason why we de emphasized our Spring scrimmage. Even some speculative B S would work against the sphinx like silence of our Athletic Department.

Re: Spring Ball
I'm so wrong about this my goodness aggie fans are so generous I see us right up at the top of the conference in ticket sales. With all the kids that go to games we will maybe need to expand the stadium in a few years to handle all of them. I saw how great the attendance was with the 11 win football team a couple of years back. When we double our revenue for football and basketball in a few year we will be right there with what San Diego gets for basketball alone.

Back to Spring Ball... how big is the QB battle going to be? I thought Colombi had it locked up but by the sounds of it, Peasley could make a run at it.

Re: Spring Ball
Based on what I've heard don't be shocked if Peasley is the starter.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2020, 1:51 pmBack to Spring Ball... how big is the QB battle going to be? I thought Colombi had it locked up but by the sounds of it, Peasley could make a run at it.
Re: Spring Ball
I would be shocked if Peasley is even close to a full participant in spring ball. Modern medicine has definitely helped speed up the recovery from an ACL, but not that quick. I dont expect to see much of him until fall camp. Either way Columbi is the starter with Peasley, Legas, and Calvin competing for back up slots.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2020, 1:51 pmBack to Spring Ball... how big is the QB battle going to be? Re: Spring Ball
Yes, ACL's are a tough and lengthy recovery event. Certainly we all wish him a complete and speedy rebound. That Peasley had outstanding wheels before he went down is not in question. How will this young man mentally respond with his physical recovery protocol, and how long will this recovery take?

Well said. Peasley is only 6 months out from his surgery at best.jeffdan25 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2020, 3:30 pmI would be shocked if Peasley is even close to a full participant in spring ball. That is not true. I donate enough to cover my seat fee and parking pass, and I’ve several conversations with Athletic staff because I have cultivated a relationship by going to events, popping in to say hi, etc. Anytime I have had a concern or question I have been listened to.Agzrule wrote:Let me help you out here. Not a complaint at all, I’d probably do the same.
