Schedule and Weather-
As jacked up as all of this has been in 2020, some of this could really play in our favor.
The team has been built around running this year. 4 very good to great running backs, and 2 QB's that can run very effectively. Additionally the O-line is returning 5 starters from last year. Late season games in bad weather in Logan, might finally be beneficial to us. We will look a lot more like Wyoming this year than Fresno and with crap weather coming and a late year schedule, who knows what we might be able to do?
When does the schedule come out. Is it too much to hope for that being today?

Re: Schedule and Weather-
I'm guessing the schedule will come out in a few days. Not sure if they will just keep the same format that we originally had. But it's highly likely I would guess that they will which means we'll be playing at Wyoming, Colorado State,Boise State and Nevada. We better be able to run the ball cuz those are some cold weather environments especially in November and early December.

Mountain West Wire is projecting that we start the season at home against AFA.

I like AFA in the opener for a few reasons:Sl7vk wrote: ↑September 25th, 2020, 3:28 pmMountain West Wire is projecting that we start the season at home against AFA.

1 - it gets this game out of the way. AFA requires special game-planning to defend the triple option. It disrupts the practice routine during the season to have to implement a defense for that in the middle of the season.
2 - AFA will be at a disadvantage by not having film on the new 4-3 defense and that will affect their blocking schemes and weaknesses they want to exploit
3- a game against AFA early in the season will allow for our D-linemen to recover from the leg/knee injuries we always suffer from all of the chop blocks they throw.
4- An early season game against AFA will still give USU (presumably) an advantage in passing the ball in decent weather, requiring them to spread their defense out. It will not be as much of an advantage for the AFA offense, which traditionally does not pass much.

Oh it was a killer last year. We were not prepared defensively to stop them. I like playing them to open as well.Yossarian wrote: ↑September 25th, 2020, 3:52 pmI like AFA in the opener for a few reasons:Sl7vk wrote: ↑September 25th, 2020, 3:28 pmMountain West Wire is projecting that we start the season at home against AFA.

Re: Schedule and Weather-
Probably. Hopefully there won't be many late night starts overall with the season this late. For selfish reasons living on the east coast and for the players and teams, you aren't going to get the best ball when you are freezing.

Re: Schedule and Weather-
After last year, I am not looking forward to playing AFA no matter when it is. Our defense was flat out embarrassing that game.
Just hoping to go .500 this year in all honesty!

When do we expect the official schedule to be released? I was hoping for today, but was not sure.

Re: Schedule and Weather-
Maybe we should give these Guys a break, making out schedules is very very tough and takes a lot of time. They've only had three months or so to put it together.Sl7vk wrote: ↑September 28th, 2020, 9:49 pmThis now is the million dollar question.tysteve20 wrote: ↑September 28th, 2020, 5:38 pmHartwell said this morning on “DJ and PK” that the schedule will be released “very soon”Aggie84025 wrote:When do we expect the official schedule to be released?
