Breaker Mendenhall....what is the situation?
Thought he could help us but now he is gone. Anyone know the backstory?

Re: Breaker Mendenhall....what is the situation?
All I know is he has stepped away from football altogether for personal reasons. Anderson said they have talked and left the door open for potentially coming back in the future, but that will be up to Breaker.

His brother is serving as a missionary here in West Farmington. If I ever get a chance to ask about it in a respectful way I will.

West Farmington? That's a pretty specific location, and isn't West Farmington just the Great Salt Lake?

Curious why he didn't end up at Virginia in the first place. Did he not want to play for his dad or was he not a highly sought after recruit? I'm sure the optics of coach's kids making teams always comes off as questionable to the fans/media.

Not highly sought after. We may have been his first offer.Naked Bull Rider wrote: ↑August 10th, 2021, 12:22 pmCurious why he didn't end up at Virginia in the first place. KSL article about his Dad stepping down at Virginia says Breaker is heading to Pocatello on January 3 on a mission. Likely explains why he stepped away.

Used to be closer than it is now. I can still see the lake from my office, but, fear not, the smell is still there.

Re: Breaker Mendenhall....what is the situation?
I think playing for his dad would have been a huge mistake. The chairman of the internal medicine department at Duke, when I was a resident, had one child, a daughter. She went to Duke undergraduate, medical school, residency, cardiology fellowship, then stayed on on the faculty of the medical school. She was a year or two ahead of me. It was sad. She really had no close friends. People were either afraid that she'd tell her dad about their otherwise unknown small screw ups and ill advised comments, or that they would be perceived as sucking up to the chairman's daughter.Naked Bull Rider wrote: ↑August 10th, 2021, 12:22 pmCurious why he didn't end up at Virginia in the first place. Re: Breaker Mendenhall....what is the situation?
Well sounds like he's a Mission kid who could potentially come back, maybe we could hire Capt. M as an assistant coach? LOL

He was probably furious when the Incredibles came out and stole the name Gazerbeam before his next child was born.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2021, 12:56 pmBronco is a weird dude. Who names their kids' Breaker, Rider, Lazer and Tazer or whatever?
