What is this, 2006? How many games will it take to score an offensive touchdown this year?

Given that at this point it's based on 2020, a bottom 10 ranking is richly deserved.
I would have gone with Eww-tah State over Yew-tah State for our pun, though.

Sounds like in reality based on reports and observations, this team will struggle mightily on offense.3rdGenAggie wrote:Given that at this point it's based on 2020, a bottom 10 ranking is richly deserved.

Imho, a good offense will learn to expose the weaknesses a defense posseses, and during the scrimages they were very lackluster on offense.
Maybe next year we can hope for a high scoring offense.
I hope the defense and special teams can put up 9-10 points a game
And hope for minimum avg 2 first downs per drive.
Lets hope for very few runs up the gut.

Not much has changed in the running game from last year. Last years running game was serviceable, given that teams were stacking the box, the receivers were often bunched on the short side of the field, and teams didn’t have to worry about the long ball.LoveMyAggies wrote: ↑August 24th, 2021, 1:01 pmSounds like in reality based on reports and observations, this team will struggle mightily on offense.3rdGenAggie wrote:Given that at this point it's based on 2020, a bottom 10 ranking is richly deserved.

The passing game has improved, and it improved when Peasley started. It will help to have an offense spread out with some deep threats.

Re: ESPN bottom 10
I have faith in this year's offensive staff, including the offensive mind of the head coach. I'll be really surprised if we're not much improved on offense this year.
GO AGGIES! GO AGGIES! HEY! HEY! HEY!
Re: ESPN bottom 10
I know everyone is basing things off last year and I know this is the time of year I wear my aggie goggles. But, I think people are WAY underestimating this team. I see 6-8 wins coming our way.
Don’t underestimate the impact an enthusiastic, engaged coach can make. Obviously last year’s team was more talented than their record. I think a lot more- we had poor coaches last year. Big turnaround coming this year.

I have faith they can turn things around. Lets be real though, when you install a new staff and a bunch of new players on both sides of the ball, And given most of the recruits are 3* or 2*, a lot of player development needs to happen.BLUERUFiO wrote:I have faith in this year's offensive staff, including the offensive mind of the head coach. The players and coach need to learn how to win together. I’m an optimist, however i see there is a lot of work to do to win multiple close games.

Yes, even though it's an old wound it remains a wound. Very public black ear with back and forth at a toxic level.

Luckily it is hidden in the middle of the COVID pandemic. In a normal year, a team not showing up to play because they were upset about a coaching change would be huge news.

It made national news in a big way, especially the accusations against the school President.

Re: ESPN bottom 10
We’re coming off a year where the team forfeited a game accusing the ad and president of racism- where we won 2 game. Apparently reported by an outlet that’d rather focus on whichever Kardashian is dating another overrated power forward, Megan Rapinoe, Lebron and Tom Tebow/ Colin Kaepernick who haven’t played in a regular season nfl or mlb game in years.

Re: ESPN bottom 10
It made national news, but he is right it would have been a much bigger story to boycott a game in a normal year. It did kind of get lost in the shuffle during a year with many cancelled games. Definitely a bad moment though.

Re: ESPN bottom 10
I doubt the game would have been forfeited during a normal year. Skipping games was par for the course last year (although for different reasons) and I expect that made it much, much easier for players to just quit.
(Not to mention that the coaching staff quite literally mentally forfeited the whole season before it even started.)

Not great work. You'll notice that Temple is both in the bottom 10...and...wait for it...on the waiting list at the same time. 3 of the teams in the waiting list (including us) are 1-0.
This isn't about just not watching college football. It is mail-it-in incompetence. Thanks ESPN!

They copy and pasted their waiting list from last week. LOL.
Watched a game on Saturday on ESPN and it was borderline intolerable. there ads and the size of the scrolling banner on the bottom of the screen took up so much real estate on my TV. It's crazy, but our deal with Fox/CBS is sooooo much better for us.
