Hit on Bonner
I was at a meeting so I haven’t watched second half but the guys in the radio mentioned there were several dangerous plays and a cheap shot on the hit that knocked him out. Was it? Thoughts?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: Hit on Bonner

Re: Hit on Bonner
I understand but there was not clear evidence even the announcers said there wasn’t enough to overturn it.

Re: Hit on Bonner
And did anyone else notice the targeting on Skarver's second kickoff return? The announcers we're praising it as a hard hit, but I swear it was helmet to helmet, and leaving with the helmet.

I hate to whine but it's absolutely the case with the flying Calhoun's.

Re: Hit on Bonner
That was one of the more blatant late hits I've seen in awhile, especially considering the emphasis in protecting qb's after they've thrown the ball.

Re: Hit on Bonner
Yeah that's not just a bad no call, that's an egregiously bad call that should be shown as a classic example of when roughing the passer should be called.

Re: Hit on Bonner
I think there are dirty plays that are intentional and disgusting but there are also kids crossing a line and doing something that should have resulted in a penalty. I hate that it happened to bonner but I won't say say that one of the young servicemen that need to be killers to protect our country is anything other than a kid that made mistake.

Re: Hit on Bonner
Right I’m sure he is a good young man. But he took a cheap shot. A really cheap one and it’s unfortunate he got nothing for it.
Re: Hit on Bonner
Am I the only one saw the late hit Air force did on Peasley on the 4th down shuffle pass to Terrell. That might have been the latest hit on a quarter back I have ever seen. I think it was so late that no one saw it.
I always hate playing air force, because of all the dirty playes they do throughout the game.

Re: Hit on Bonner
I am thankful he is serving our country, but that was a cheap A$$ play. That was a very dangerous hit that could break the ribs and was completely unnecessary. Then at the end of the game when we are trying to kneel the ball the AF is guy is throwing himself at the ball as he is snapping it. I respect what they cadets do, but they are no choir boys and took some cheap shots. It starts with their coach he is a whiny douche.Ingrid Cold wrote: ↑September 18th, 2021, 10:50 pmI think there are dirty plays that are intentional and disgusting but there are also kids crossing a line and doing something that should have resulted in a penalty. Also, excusing bad behavior just because it comes from a member of our armed services isn’t respectful, it’s patronizing.

Re: Hit on Bonner
I noticed it also. When they showed the replay looking down the field you can see the head ref is looking at the ball and totally misses the late hit.kevaggie wrote: ↑September 18th, 2021, 11:10 pmAm I the only one saw the late hit Air force did on Peasley on the 4th down shuffle pass to Terrell. Re: Hit on Bonner
Go back and watch Tyler’s first TD and an AF player has his hand wrapped around his ankle trying to twist it before Tyler pulls it away.
They’ve become my most disliked MW opponent for a few reasons now.

I didn't agree with the overturned call either.
