Nimrod

Post by LKGates » November 17th, 2021, 3:57 pm

So Nimrod, the kickoff guy. Is he just permanently a kickoff specialist, or is he being groomed to take over as the place kicker?

There will likely be a battle next year between him, Joey Rouly and Sam Hogan.

Another thing. He is clearly capable of putting it out of the back of the end zone, has done it on multiple occasions. In the San Jose game, he seemed to be dropping quite a few between the goal line and the 5 yard line. Was that deliberate, baiting them into trying a run back, when we have a lot of confidence in our kickoff coverage? Or was he just having an off day?

I think it was the confidence in our coverage teams to make a play prior to the return man crossing the 25.

Coach Anderson mentioned in the luncheon that the air is heavier closer to sea level, so he stuggled to get that extra 5 yards or so. Just sharing.

If he does stay on as our kickoff guy through his senior season, I think it's only appropriate that somebody puts together a video tribute compilation of his kickoffs in slow motion and high def to this music:

As the board's resident band nerd and classical music scholar, I'm kinda mad I didn't come with this first  Elgar's Enigma Variations absolutely SLAP, and "Nimrod" is the best one
