Re: Hartwell potentially on the move?
A current and former head coach confirmed to me that a certain male administrator would bag on John whenever an opportunity. There was more of a divide than publicly known.
Sad for all Aggie fans that the Game of Thrones was played in our backyard.

A lot of backstabbing in the AD. Lots directed at John from various sources.garyismyhomeboy wrote: ↑November 3rd, 2022, 3:17 pmA current and former head coach confirmed to me that a certain male administrator would bag on John whenever an opportunity. There was more of a divide than publicly known.

I know Tom, and I’m sure he will follow through if he hasn’t already done so. I was in the room in March when the indoor practice facility was pitched and Tom ponied up.sammyhagar wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2022, 5:24 pmTom and Hartwell were VERY VERY close, good friends.....Hopefully the money is in the bank.

Who do I sue?
I haven't seen this much drama since my wife's father passed away and we had to deal with her siblings. Man, I've lost track; who do I cheer for or against now?

The stench. Always cheer against the stench.

Let’s just say Cockett didn’t “make” those cookies for students just to be a kind, motherly figure.

Seriously. The level of immaturity is more embarrassing than the actual actions (with the exception of the sexual assault stuff which I agree is a big deal.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑November 3rd, 2022, 12:53 pmCan those really in the know answer me one question?
Other than the school’s continuous mishandling of sexual assault issues (a big issue), does any of the nastiness going on in or around the University right now rise above the level of petty, junior high-level (I can't express myself without swearing)? Because if not, I am getting back to work.

Re: Hartwell potentially on the move?
This is why a total reset of the internal AD culture maybe necessary. Depending on what comes out, mr or mrs outside hire might be the best option. A cleaning of the house wouldn't be bad if it restores adult behavior and a less toxic work environment for those employed at the USU AD.bluegrouse wrote: ↑November 3rd, 2022, 9:23 pmSeriously. The outsized amount of scandals (real or imagined) that Hartwell and Cockett have presided over in their tenure is alarming.

Re: Hartwell potentially on the move?
I just can’t follow the soap opera that is this board/USU Sports (not sure which is really the soap opera at this point) but can someone give me a straightforward explanation of what’s going on? The end of Gary 2.0, Hartwell’s termination, Coach Ard’s supposed past (and possibly current?) relationships, and president Cockett’s ulterior motives in baking cookies. I am lost.

Re: Hartwell potentially on the move?
Nothing against Scott at all but I can’t believe this would be feasible. Would a major research university put a lawyer at the head? Why bring him in as interim if he isn’t qualified for the job? If I’m wrong let me know, I just would think that the president of a Carnegie 1 research institution would be someone with academic bona fidesIntermeddler wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 10:57 pmI think you’ll be proven right. Re: Hartwell potentially on the move?
It's fairly common for interim replacements to not be qualified to have the job permanently. Fred Hunsaker and Ken White are far from qualified to be the permanent AD but they got by on an interim basis.rAggie wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 11:18 pmNothing against Scott at all but I can’t believe this would be feasible. I don’t think it would be permanent but I’ve been told he might be thought of as a good steward through the upcoming litigation minefield we’re likely facing.rAggie wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 11:18 pmNothing against Scott at all but I can’t believe this would be feasible. Re: Hartwell potentially on the move?
He was the president of SUU and from what I hear he did a very good job there. That should qualify him to the interim at USU.rAggie wrote: ↑November 21st, 2022, 11:18 pmNothing against Scott at all but I can’t believe this would be feasible. Though it does seem odd to bring someone from off campus to be the interim. If it were me I would make Dean Anderson from the business school the interim until he retires in like 2 years. He has done a real lot to raise the profile of the business school but is old enough and close enough to retirement that he is probably not looking to be anything more than interim.

For what it’s worth, Scott Wyatt was kind of working at usu not too long ago.
On a list for possible interim Presidents related to USU that I can think of:
Scott Wyatt
Dean Anderson
Ken white
Robert Wagner
Larry Smith

Someone needs to step up and tell a certain donor who lives on the island with a boner for Gary to piss off
