@aggies22 does this mean no Marquis? It is there still a spot for him? Potentially

Kinda cool how we made his top 7 considering the amount of p5 offers he got.

Do we know what type of WR he will be? Is he going to be a Slot/Inside guy, or a guy on the outside?

Solid pickup by the Aggies. Like that he has 2 years left. He will end up with a Stanford undergrad and USU graduate degree. Good on him.

This is great for USU. But what does it say about USUs place in the world of college football? A guy that could barely get off the bench after 4 years at a middling P5 school would be USUs highest rated recruit?

I'm looking forward to seeing him play. If he brings what Bowling and Wright brought to the 2021 team, this is a great pickup.

Why are we coveting Montgomery so much? I like that he is 6'5/210, but he runs 4.8 in the forty and gets zero separation in all of his highlights.

I'm not bagging on the guy; just want to know what my untrained eye is missing.

He's big. He can block. He has great hands. I've seen him play at snow and they don't have great QB's but he makes great catches

Seems like a blue collar, gritty, high football IQ, sneaky athletic WR that has great leadership skills. Probably a film room junkie and a gym rat too.

You mean like Byron Vaughns, Pat Joyner, Phill Paea, Hunter Reynolds, and MJ Tafisi? I would say Bowman is the perfect example of why the transfer portal can work for Utah State.

We’ve had tons of success with dudes like this under the current staff. Seems like more often than not transfers like this hit.

Granted, he will have to adjust to the huge disparity in academic rigor at USU compared to Stanford, but if he can study a bit more he should be fine.

The fact that he didn't play a ton at Stanford and that his rating is high aren't related. It doesn't say anything except that we don't typically get 4 star guys out of HS...surprise!

Aggies will only get four star guys in the transfer portal. They generally will not receive a 4 star in the high school rankings unless that recruit has a major connection to the valley or the University. This is our lot. To pick up guys from P5 schools that are not getting playing time. I'm okay with that because Utah State has proven that we're pretty good at building those type of players into something.

What does it say about USUs place in the world of college football when a contributing WR from Alabama can't get off the bench at USU.

So many questions...

Between this Stanford transfer, Vaughn, NyNy Davis, KVL, the JC transfers, Royals, and other WRs on the roster on the team, we should expect good things.

This player is the exact reason the transfer portal was put into place. He was not getting the playing time at one school so he transfers to another school to be able to have more of a role.

And at a place like Stanford, you finish out your degree even if you're not getting playing time. That'll help you succeed more in life than moving on early.

Just thought I would ask this here instead of creating a new thread asking this. What's the deal with the tight ends rumored to be transferring. Were they told by BA and Tucker what they wanted to hear about being used more next year? Are they waiting to see if Tucker leaves and planning on transferring if it's confirmed he'll be back? Have they found out that Utah isn't interested in them, and neither are other schools who use tight ends to their satisfaction?

Don't think I like that. Not when you compare Wells when he was calling the plays causing his game management to suffer compared to Wells when focused on game management with Yost calling plays. Maybe BA will be better at delegating game management tasks to assistants than Wells was.

I think Anthony Tucker might be a good QB coach or a good coach just not a good coordinator
