Pac 12 media debt

Post by columbusaggie » August 5th, 2023, 6:35 am

So the Pac 12 has approximately $50 million in debt for overpayment to Comcast. Is it even possible to do a merger? No way MWC can take on that debt.

If there is no PAC why would the MWC pay it? Saying the MWC would have to pay it instead of Big 12 ir Big 10 makes no sense.

Something will be worked out on it. I highly doubt the MWC schools would get stuck with it in the event of a merger. A merger would probably be some sort of asset merger that doesn't include debt. Most likely, the individual PAC schools will remain on the hook even after they leave or the PAC no longer exists.

That’s about $4mil per school. They’ll probably just deduct it from each schools payout this year.

On the nosie: and that means a lot of belt tightening this coming school year.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
