Iowa QB Cade McNamara Injured During Practice
They don’t know the extent, waiting for more reports. “ Well, that's no good. After Cade McNamara scrambled he fell kind of weird with his right knee. He took himself out, then walked off the field and into the tunnel with Iowa's training staff.”

Re: Iowa QB Cade McNamara Injured During Practice
I just found some updates. “He’s out of the locker room. No ice and no crutches.”

“McNamara is back on the field. No jersey or helmet. He’s in the gray, two or three hashes to the right of the 30.”

Exactly. When we have that many roster spots change and we're relying on so many newbies, we're not going to win against this level of p5 school. Just no.

I’d love to be proven wrong, and will eat every bit of crow if I am, but I think this season might be really bad. My gut instinct says somewhere between 1-3 wins. We get boatraced in the opener. If we even cover vs Iowa I’ll be stunned.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑August 12th, 2023, 5:56 pmThat’s the spiritAggieFBObsession wrote: ↑August 12th, 2023, 5:13 pmExactly. Re: Iowa QB Cade McNamara Injured During Practice
There appears to be some concern out of the Iowa camp, at least from Iowa fans, regarding McNamara. The injury incident over the weekend seems minor enough but they are doing an MRI on his previously injured knee and he could miss some more of fall camp. This is what I'm hearing in general from local Iowa media about their team out of fall camp so far:
- Defense looks really good and is way ahead of the offense
- Offense has looked ok with McNamara at the helm but there is a huge drop-off after him as the backups have looked awful in practice
- The pass rush and secondary are their strengths
- O-line could still be a concern. They were bad by Iowa standards last year and possibly only slightly better this year
- Look for the Hawkeyes to pass more on 1st downs than in the past
- Play calling will be more aggressive when holding onto a lead in the second half of games

Re: Iowa QB Cade McNamara Injured During Practice
I'm afraid they're going to score 21+ on us, regardless of their QB. And I'm also worried that we will have real trouble scoring on them, optimistically I would guess 14. Now if our defense can force some turnovers deep, or get some points even, we might have a chance.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑August 16th, 2023, 8:48 amThere appears to be some concern out of the Iowa camp, at least from Iowa fans, regarding McNamara. Iowa fans will be deceived into believing their offense is fixed when they put up 35+ on us, only to lose 7-3 to Iowa state the next week.

After the way Anderson handled the Alabama game, I fully expect USU to NEVER be competitive in our P5 money game while he's coach.
That's fine I guess, but it was fun to imagine an upset win - and get close a few times.

Re: Iowa QB Cade McNamara Injured During Practice
Anderson has a lot of new players. With the transfer portal open, essentially year around, coaches don't know what team they will have during spring camp, let alone summer camp. Lot's of chemistry, depth chart and timing issues to work out. I imagine the Iowa game will be a "play smart, get some reps, don't get injured, get ready for the season, collect paycheck" type of game.

In contrast, BA took Arkansas State to a victory over Kansas State and that was a mediocre-bad ASU team

I don’t think it’s fine. As a competitor, I don’t understand walking into a game with the attitude they showed at Alabama last year. Pathetic. And it had a ripple effect on the rest of the season too. There’s a reason we got our (I can't express myself without swearing) kicked by Weber.brownjeans wrote: ↑August 16th, 2023, 10:59 amAfter the way Anderson handled the Alabama game, I fully expect USU to NEVER be competitive in our P5 money game while he's coach.

I really hope Blake has a better attitude towards the Iowa game. We’re good enough to beat them. They can’t score the ball.

Regardless of what BA thinks, Coop is a competitor. I’m not worried about “not trying” or “not good enough to beat them” with him leading the team. I expect him to play with guts and heart! That's fine I guess, but it was fun to imagine an upset win - and get close a few times.
I really hope Blake has a better attitude towards the Iowa game. We’re good enough to beat them. They can’t score the ball.
Just because I’m the sun belt you have 0% chance of winning buy games doesn’t mean that we don’t have a chance against most. I despised the attitude towards the Alabama game

How could I forget that one! BA's 3-1 record over the last 3 years is pretty good!Madmartigan wrote: ↑August 16th, 2023, 12:16 pmOne Addition that makes him look even a bit better:AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑August 16th, 2023, 12:10 pmHere is BA's outcomes against P5 teams as a HC. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: Iowa QB Cade McNamara Injured During Practice
It looks like if they score in the 50's BA's teams have been blown out and maybe not shown full effort. For the most part, anything less than that is a game.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑August 16th, 2023, 2:23 pmHow could I forget that one!
